Since all posts must first be checked by a moderator, it would be very helpful to have a preview option – to see what your post looks like and to perhaps eliminate some typing errors.

This would be very useful. Firefox does help a lot and helps removing most errors. Word is an option (I advise something smaller and simpler like notepad over Word, but thats just me against the giant).

However, if you have a long post or special elements in you're post (links, bold, quoting other messages etc) Notepad or word are limited and the best view you can get is a real preview as it would be as it is posted.

But for now word, notepad (or in my case Textpad) and Firefox work fine.

Another option, of course, is to type out your post in in something like Microsoft's "word" program or other spell-checking program. Since I use Mozilla's Firefox web browser for this website, I already have a good spell-check program: The browser caught 5 errors before I even had a chance to check this post myself.

I absolutly agree with that post!
The time span from submitting the post to viewing in the forum is sometimes very very long.
With a post preview some errors and typos can be found pre post state.
