People are noticing the same melody as The Star Of The County Down . Does that ring a bell?

Am I the only one who notices that the main melodies in this song are taken from an irish traditional song?. I can't remember the name, but Luar na Lubre (a galician folk band) made a cover many years ago and entitled the song Canteixeire.

What a delight, to find that Quinlan Road has placed the YouTube offering of this song being recorded right on News and Views! I really enjoy the way Loreena decided to arrange the song, and I especially like hearing it sung to the same tune as 'Star of the County Down'. It's not the only tune which has historically been used for the song, but it's a wonderful, merry little choice.

Music has always played an important role in Loreena's own holiday traditions and it is her hope that it will in yours too.

Singing of carols has been always a very important point of Christmas celebration in Polish families. The celebration starts in the Christmas Eve evening with ceremonial supper, after which we sing our wonderful carols, that we like very much. They are sometimes very cheerful, sometimes lirycal… many of them have profound lyric. We, Poles, are very attached to our, Polish carols.
That, about I mentioned above, was the reason why I was very curious about AMND. I have heard the record many times and like it very, very much… and more and more. The Seven Rejoices of Mary touches my heart always when I hear it. I’m very glad that Loreena made the video available to us. It is a great pleasure to see her again and to see her singing just this song. Thank you, Loreena…

Yes is it not? Especially with the fact that she is barely moving I like the video very much, in all its simplicity. I think she should make music videos for more songs, like she did with The mummers' dance. I feel I gotta watch NYE...

The intro of the song makes me feel so happy, I do not know why. Maybe it's the harp.
