I'm new to the board, but not new to Loreena's music. Being a Celt I love music that reminds me of my families Irish roots. Along my journey I too have delved into the culture of the Celts, their history, beliefs and their music. I came upon Elemental and "Come By The Hills" in the summer of 1988 and fell in love with the sounds and stories in her music. I've been a fan ever since.
My husband first heard Loreena through the Murmmer's Dance, like many Americans. Being a bit of an ecclectic music buff, he took to learning about her music and like many of us, fell in love with her talent.
There are a lot of artists I like. I rate an album by how many of the songs I like on the compilation. There are few artists who can truly put together a great album. Instead, they have one or two offerings per release that grab your attention and keep you listening.
Loreena's music is one of the few who can deliver an entire album of wonderfully unique and touching songs. I can't think of one song on one album that hasn't struck a cord with me in some way. Dante's Prayer is one of my most favorite, along with Never-ending Road. But none other has hit me to the core so deeply as Penelope's Song.
The first time I heard it, I felt taken away to a rocky cliff over looking a raging sea. As if I was standing on it's edge straining for a glimpse of sail, knowing my love was finally coming home to me. As if it were a memory from long long ago, in another life, on a distant shore.
This past Valentines Day, I gave my true love tickets to see Loreena in Washington DC at the DAR Constitution Hall. We were both thrilled and excited to attend such a wonderful concert. We felt as if we were part of the privaledge few who were honored by the energy and music of all the performers.
If I can post nothing else here today, I'd like to post a most heart felt and humble thank you. Thank you Loreena for the long hours, hard work and generous efforts you and your company of musicians put into sharing your gifts and music with us.
Many Blessings, Spring

The others have already said what I was thinking -- and they have done it with more eloquence than I could summon. I need to get some sleep now, it 11:30 pm......

To call myself an author or poet is something I've always had a hard time doing. I do write and perhaps one day I'll get off my behind and finish my dragon fantasy/fiction trilogy.
I'm a web techno geek by trade and find myself pouring out my mind on webpages. If you get bored you're welcome to visit my sites. The first 3 chapters of the trilogy are on my personal website @ http://springwolf.com/dragoncove/tales/index.htm
My poetry pretty much covers the feelings and events of my life over the past 10 years. I keep that @ http://victorianspring.com
I'm always amazed when people read something I've written and find something in it for themselves. To me, it's just my vision put into words for my own entertainment. But I hope you like it if you visit.

I applaud your beautiful writing. It is wonderful that you share such a romance with your husband and have a venue in which to dance mentally with Loreena's music. I have often thought of being on a Hebridian cliff overlooking the sea...not for a ship to come in, but for a hope and a mystery far in the distance. So much of her music evokes ponder and hope. God, I love that. It helps me stay real and open, in this day and time.
I love Loreena's music, too. I love all the rich colors and seeming textures brought on by so many eclectic instruments melded into one orchestra. Totally cool. The Celtic in me celebrates every time I hear her melodies.
WOW! I loved reading your posts! Do you read or write poetry? I have a post here where I and others have posted poems. It is wonderful. Part of the Celtic experience I relate to is the Muse and the Bard (person who engenders music with a story that causes an emotional imprint).
I first got into her music in 1993 after Sarah, Enya, Clanad and others. I saw her in concert in 1994. The concert at Radio City music hall 10 days ago was the culmination of a 13 year wait.
My wife loved LM's music after my introduing to her (otherwise I wouldn't have married here, LOL). My wife had a heart transplant 3 months ago and the concert was her first fun event of the year.
It is wonderful that you are able to share the music with your love. The minds eye view of waves crashing against the rocky shore and salt mist spraying on your face I can feel vividly. I'm far from being Irish or Celtic...however, I have never been so attached to any music like Irish music. Also, I am a poet (my job is consulting in pharmaceutical and medical device)and Irish poetry/stories are magical.
It would be great to email either here or at jeff@atzari.com . Be well and ENJOY!
