Somewhat new to the community in that I've been on the mailing list for Quinlan Road for awhile now but never realized there was a related forum. While looking for some sort of PR or official site, I ran into it. Lucky day!

I'm a long time fan of Loreena McKennit, dating back to first hearing her song "The Mummer's Dance" as thematic piece on a late night radio entertainment program called "Coast to Coast with Art Bell". Been hooked ever since!

Me, in a nutshell. 'lo!

Hello, WorldWithoutEnd:
I am glad to hear that another fellow Wolverine enjoys listening to Ms. McKennitt on their CD player or MP3 player, however you want to put it. Have you been to any of Loreena McKennitt's concerts? I would like to see her return to the Great Lakes State. How about you?

Good day to you,

Nice to again hear of another under the spell of this Lady's craft. It is interesting to read of the many outlets that have guided people to this site, yet in the same breath, and more importantly to appreciate the music of Loreena McKennitt.

So may I ask? is Michigan the World without end? Or do you read allot of Mr. Follet? Just curious....I know the beauty of Michigan...it is lovely country...

Thanks for saying hello!

Thanks! The choice was inspired by an author named Ken Follet, who wrote a book by the same name. For some reason, I've always associated his books with Ms. McKennit's music.

Oh yes, it most definitely was. I've never been as ... into... music as many others are, but that particular discovery opened the door to many of the musicians I currently listen to.

Did you ever seize the chance to attend a gig of hers? That is really a NightWithoutEnd & Time, like being in another dimension.

For me, Ms. McKennit's music has been a process of discovery and rediscovery. The time of Art Bell had to have been around 1997... before google searching really got off the ground, and well before resources like Wikipedia. I never seemed to connect with the right people who knew anything about her or her music, and in the beginning (the genesis, you might call it), in all my ignorance of styles of music, I thought hers was Celtic.

I had a casette with "The Book of Secrets" and eventually found "The Mask and the Mirror". Since then, I've filled out the rest.

I've not yet had the chance to attend one of her concerts, but someday certainly.
