Hello From Hobbiton

Hi from New Zealand. My name is Martin and I live 20kms from Hobbiton. Been there twice in fact.
The LOTR films are known for there soaring music. There are times when I think some of LM's music would have been spot on. Some of the soundtrack definitely is Celtic in flavour.

Anyway, I love LM's music and play the Alhambra concert dvd all the time. I also like people such as Mike Oldfield, Medwyn Goodall, Oliver Shanti.
If there's any Tolkien fans out there...hi to everyone

Well about time another Kiwi showed up here.
Hi everyone, I'm from the South Island of New Zealand. I am involved part time in the Audio industry and would just LOVE to see/hear LM live. As far as I am aware it has been NUMBER of years since LM came down-under and unfortunately it was before I had discovered her.

Cheers everyone.

No, did not get a chance to take part or view any filming. It was done in great secrecy. When the word went out to the public the production was already 2 years old! Security for those films and the filming for
the two Hobbit movies is just as intense.

Never seen Mike in concert, but have a dvd of him in concert at the Montreux
Jazz festival with Maggie as part of the band. Must say was unimpressed with
her performance, but she had a nice voice. Looked totally bored with the
whole show.

To my knowledge there are no native sealions in this country. I'm not too swept up on such details.

Sounds so cool.
But of course, why shouldn't animals enjoy music as much as us?!
Our cat loved to lie in my bed and sleep, when I listened to music.
(at that time I didn't know McK's music - wonder if she'd liked that?)

Hiya!

I'm not too crazy about Tolkien's Lord of the rings, however, he published a book of letters from "Santa Clause" to his sons. Does anyone know it? I lOOOVED it when I was younger, unfortunately it seems to have disappeared.

Anyway, I was on a trip to Scotland with a friend last week and we were having *The Ring* with us and indeed, some strange things happened to us until we went to Mount Doom and got rid of it. Big Grin

Cheers, Anni

Yeah, Tolkien has been around in my family for 40 years or more.
My Ada first introduced me to him.
The number plate on the car is 9NAZGL and has aroused interest from
passers by. One lady stopped us in the street and offered us
several thousand dollars for it.

Good day to you also....

Not a LOTR person. Although in my youth a neighbor penned us all with a nick name from the Hobbit and such. I was Gandolf. Interesting how things do go.. )

Nice to read your post and the follow up. I would think you will find good conversation here with you interest.

Be well........live wise....do stay in touch!

The only one from New Zealand? Wow. It just
goes to show just how many people here are missing out
on listening to LM then.

Hi Nazgul. I think it would be difficult NOT to find any tolkien fans on here!.
I'm ex british myself and moved to canada in 2007. I should have moved to somewhere a little warmer, but hey, if it's good enough for the polar bears and mosquitos..!!.
I saw mike oldfield (with maggie riley on vocals)in essen, germany in the early 1980's, but i'm even more impressed by his sister sally's 'strange day in berlin' album. the acceptable face of synthesized music.
