I can understand your sadness and disappointment, as I am also at 'myspace' for my own music (I haven't placed professional renditions of my songs, but merely simple home recordings), but I had joined the "Loreena McKennitt" fan site also. Many of my friends had asked me where it went, so I directed them to Loreena's website instead (and am still doing as such).
On my own 'myspace' (friends' section), I advocate Loreena's website and re-direct whomever is interested, here.
I can only presume that perhaps the reason why the fansite was removed, could have primarily been due to an influx of so many individuals wanting to 'communicate' with Loreena, as you very well know the amount of fans there.
Whomever had opened up the 'fansite' had a good intent, but in essence, was really in no 'legal position' to answer on Loreena's behalf which would have been up to Loreena or her staff to do for her. This is the way I understood it to be.
All in all, you are here now, and there are really wonderful people to communicate with here. I think so, anyway.
