We journeyed to Asheville for our first and hopefully not our last Loreena concert. The concert was magnificent, (even though the drunk lady behind me spilled her wine down the back of my shirt)!

I had heard a Loreena song on the local radio station back in the mid 90's. I had to find that CD, and since then have been a huge admirer.

Thank You Loreena for your incredible music and spirit.

Hmmmn, The only location where I think listening to Ms. McKennitt's music over a bottle of wine would be at the one and only Hollywood Bowl. The crowds there, for the most part are sedate and well-behaved. If Led Zepplin were to be onstage that night, perhaps a more raucous audience may be involved in wine spiling and what not. Personally, having Loreena at the Hollywood Bowl would be an event to relish and remember.

Thankfully DAR Constitution Hall didn't allow drinks in the concert hall. Just bottled water. The audiance was definitely a mix of people. Young and old, sophisticated and um, unique. Wink

I like to think my husband and I were some where in between. But then, we're just simple country folk who journeyed to DC from Richmond. It was well worth the trip!

I hope the drunkard didn't ruin the shirt. But I'm glad you were able to rise above it and enjoy the concert.

Welcome, "boxerlady"!

You had wine spilled down the back of your shirt? Eeker I can only hope that the State Theatre in Minneapolis does not allow liquid refreshments in "open" containers (glasses, goblets, tankards, etc)...and that if it does, I will not have a drunk person behind me -- I would be tempted to give the miscreant "what for" Mad .

All who are "civilized" do not have good manners. (Not everyone who call themselves "civilized" are well-mannered. Some are just clods, regardless of how well-dressed and/or well-to-do they may be.) Roll Eyes

Glad you had a good time regardless of what happened. Here's hoping that you can do it again! Big Grin Big Grin
