I just found these forums! How nice. I've been listening to Loreena's music for several years, and just had the pleasure of seeing her in concert here at Humphrey's by the Bay in San Diego! What an evening!!!!! My mother passed away in January, and I hadn't realized how much I relied on Loreena's music to get me through it, until I found myself bawling my eyes out when she sang Dante's Prayer. I'm looking forward to meeting other people who appreciate this music as much as I do.

Loreena's music touches me in different ways at different times. When I have been grieving for a lost love it feels my heart will swell and burst with sadness...the music seems to reach the core of the feeling. But I must say the concert at Humphrey's for me was a time of hope that I may once again find love and a sense of celebration that traditions go on, that we all can come together to hear sounds that bind us as a human family. I am sorry to hear of your mother passing. I will hold you in my thoughts.

Hello everyone~
I'm Terr & I just saw Loreena in L.A., Oakland, & San Rafael!!! AMAZING shows!!!
It was so wonderful to meet with her twice!! We spoke briefly & hugged & it was gooood!!

Cyndy~ I too get very emotional at Loreena's shows. I love her SO much!
Sympathy & condolences for the loss of your mother. I lost mine too 2 years ago. I was fortunate to be able to be very close to her & care for her for her final years.

Andrea~ You probably know that the L.A. show was moved from the Greek Theater where the hills were scorched by recent fires to the Gibson Amphitheater. It was a last minute change that went very smoothly, thank God. Too bad you missed such a great show!

I'll post details of my experiences the last few days seeing Loreena thrice & meeting her twice in other parts of this forum....

~Ciao

Hi Cyndy !

How was the concert ? Sold out? I missed the concert here in Los Angeles with the Griffith Park fire and all.

First off I am so sorry your Mom passed. I absolutely just love Dante's Prayer too. So Soul filled - touching. It evokes feelings in oneself doesn't it? It brings me to feel and with those beautiful words and that wonderful gentle music - well I think it can give me a kind of "permission" to be vulnerable - it feels safe to let go. And yeah cry! It's good to cry sometimes.

Glad you could enjoy the show.
