I just discovered Loreena about a month ago. I think she is the best. I had to have more of Loreena's music, so I bought Nights from the Alhambra, The Journey Begins Box Set, Live Paris/Toronto, Moveable Musical Feast, and three others. Loreena is such a beautiful human being, kind, compassionate. A lovely soul. I had to stop by and wish you a HAPPY BIRTHDAY LOREENA, if you're reading this. Enjoy your day!

Hello...thanks to all who welcomed me. Anxious 2, Dan and freesoul. I'm new to this message board so I hope I'm posting this properly. It will be great to talk to other Loreena fans. Bye for now.

Hi Kimberly, welcome to the board! I like your enthusiasm and I think your reasons for loving Loreena ring true for many of us. Too bad you didn't connect with Loreena a bit earlier. She did concerts in Ann Arbor, Kalamazoo, and Detroit back in 2007 (I was at all of them). But I'm sure she'll be back. Maybe I'll see you then!

so, you could say that this new year has begun in the best way . How were we able to live without Loreena? I often wonder and it's really hard to find an answer. Glad to hear that her music is aired on the radio, here it is not the same Best!

"That was Loreena McKennitt with the Mummers Dance."Those were the words that started me on my discovery of all things LM. In Jan.'09, I was listening to the radio and heard Mummer's Dance. I heard that song before and always loved it, but never caught the name nor artist. So out of the blue to hear it again was fate. I got home and looked the song up on You Tube. Kept playing it over and over while reading comments by others. So, I thought hmm... I think I try some of her other songs. Dante's Prayer, All Souls Night, Penelope's Somg. I was instantly hooked. Then I looked LM up on Wikipedia and was pretty much blown away to find that she also writes lyrics, melody, plays all these instruments etc. Also, reading more bio. elsewhere, I found her to be such a warm and friendly person. Liked her whole vibe. I've been listenig to music,(mainly rock, pop) everday of my life since I was about 10 (now 51), and no one artist has moved me emotionaly as LM. Tears, chills, joy, just incredible. I liked her thoughts on trying to maintain a private life while still expressing herself musically. She is, in my humble opinion, a musical genius! I can't think of anyone that does what she does with a great work of poetry, with her own lyrics, with melody. Just, well I already said it... Genius!!! She is my favorite musical artist of all time. I will eventually buy every single cd she has because I like the same songs, but done a little differently. Honestly, I haven't put any other cd's in stereo since January. Also Nights from the Alhambra was 1st purchase and it is fabulous. I have also introduced about 5 friends to LM too. They love her! Sorry this is so long. Thanks too, Anxious2 for the nice comments and interest. Warm Regards everyone.
