Do you now? But of course, you live in Denmark and you'd get snow in the winter.
Here in Australia it's mostly just wet with the occasional frost in the morning...and of course our annual midwinter floods! Unless you go to the national parks where it is FREEZING in the winter...but no one lives there, so if you want snow, you have to go camping.
Actually the national parks can sometimes have snow in the summer!
As we say in Tasmania: "if you don't like the weather, wait ten minutes"

It sound so nice. Especially the snowball fight! I just love winter.
Just had to think another time when you wrote ...IN JUNE! It was absolutely FREEZING. Over here at the other half of the globe, it was hot! So no "solid" water fights, but lots of them with liquid water!
Talk you

I go camping occasionally. My family went camping twice over the summer holidays (once too the west coast and once to the east coast of Tassie), and that was too much for me. I prefer my camping trips to be spread out a bit more...don't get me wrong, I love nature and all that, but I prefer to visit it and only stay in it occaisionally.
Having said that, nature at its most uncomfortable is often also its most beautiful. Two years ago my dad invited our entire extended family on a camping trip. Not all of them could come, but we still got a fair amount of them coming to our place for dinner, staying the night, and the next morning, all travelling up to the Walls of Jerusalem national park...IN JUNE! It was absolutely FREEZING, but boy did the snow look good! We had amazing views on our walk to the camping spot on the first day, and we climbed a small mountain on the second day...as well as having a snowball fight!. our amazing views continued when we walked back on the third day; it's amazing how much more you can see walking the same track, but in the opposite direction!
Anyway, hope you're having lots of fun!

*~Emi~*, I don't think that the cover of AAM is depicting any specific place, and I think the pavillion is just a representation of the sort of portable shelters that were fashionable/practical in ancient times, which I guess is to enhance the fact that Loreena got her inspiration from the past, as freesoul was saying...other than that, I'm really not sure about any of that; I'm not very god at being "deep"
I'm not quite sure what you were saying about the discussions. You can either go to my last post in this thread, and click on the bold text which says "Avatar pic" and that should take you directly to the poll. If that doesn't work, go to the 'General' forum and scroll down until you find the 'Avatar pic' poll...I'm pretty sure it's still on page 1!
Hope it works!

In order to answer the question, what is an ancient muse, I think you ought to dig a bit into the album itself. I think that she chose 'an ancient muse' as the title, just to say that she drew inspiration from the past, the ancient time became her own muse. If you think of every song or read the booklet, you can recover and figure out where they come from: The Gates of Instanbul is about approaching Instanbul in 1453, there are camels and horses, The English Ladye and the Knight is an ancient poem, Penelope's Song conjures up Penelope's long-standing waiting for her husband whose sea-ride is recounted in Homer's Odyssey and then Caravanserai makes us know something none of us has ever experienced, an overnight stop at a caravanserai with goods and cattle and horses etc. So I think an ancient muse is an inspiration which comes from the past, where Loreena tries to 'travel' to, with the hope to recapture the same 'sounds', 'smells' and 'colours' to be set into music. And so her music becomes evocative of the past itself. Anyway, this is just my two cents, what I can imagine about the title, even thanks to a few Loreena's interviews, but I'm not her, nor a historian; as it's merely what I think, I really might be wrong. Cheers!

G'day All! Jesse...On the list of Discussions, your name is there saying you posted a post on here but when I click on it it, what you want to say doesn't come up hmmm... I wonder whats wrong.
This is for everyone to answer and have a say or a big say Any way...I really, desperately need to know the real history and truth of An Ancient Muse!!!!! I actually don't know much about it. And my out-of-school art teacher said I shouldn't say what I think, because I might be wrong. So I think it is the best, greatest and most safest way to ask all of you!!! 't know what it is!!! This is for my high school assignment ok? And it's for the subject Visual Arts. The Unit is called Spirituality, Religion (think open-minded, widely, outside the circle.) I'm doing a painting of The Ancient Muse and then I have to do a presentation/speech on it; but I a *What is An Ancient Muse??? *What is that tent like thing on the album???...(which I'm painting...) (((I thought that that tent was the ancient muse itself! And it was the Celts or someone who uses the tent and did ceremonies in it or something like that! probably wrong...most likely ))) *Who used that tent like thing??? *Where is that??? What country or what ever. *And anything else that I need to know!!! You can say anything you want no matter how short or long it is! Websites?? This is an emergency!!! ok? I'm one desperate girl here!!! lol! Ok...you get the point...right? he he! I hope all this makes sense to you all! Got to go! See ya very sooooon! Emi xoxoxoxoxo Love you's!

YOU ARE NOT! That's ME! I have made around 450 posts on this board (at the time I wrote this), and you have under 80...HA!
I'm just kidding, of course. (you should've seen the look on your face!ROFL!) It's quality, not quantity that counts. (which is lucky, because Loreena herself has posted less than 10 messages!)
My new picture is a Centaur I made on Photoshop. I'm really pleased with how it turned out, seeing as I've only just started using Photoshop this year and I was really just making the whole thing up as I went along. If you go to the poll I created in the General section, entitled 'Avatar pic' (I asked people to help me pick a new one), there is a link to a larger version of it!
Yep...they are both really funny! he he! I've been singing it too lately! ha ha! Yes it is good that we are talking about Aussie things! So we don't get forgotten. And so people no what we are like or about. At least a little bit about us. he he!lol! But we will never be forgotten here! We are known. And because there are such great people here!!! I love your new picture Jesse! What actually is it? I'll have to get used to that new picture now! ha ha ha!
This exciting sentence is in the email that LM/QR sent to me a few days ago """At this time, there are no other performances planned beyond the 2009 Mediterranean Tour and the 2009 Canadian Summer Festival dates noted above.""" Because that could mean she plans great concerts for Australia and she can actually come down here!!!!!!!!!!! Now that is a big dream! And I hope it comes true! Aye? hehe! See yas lata! From The All Time Biggest Fan of LM, Emi xoxoxo Big hug and kiss!!!!!!!!!!!!!! hehe!

My sister has been singing a bit of Aeroplane Jelly lately
Don't you just love it how we're talking about all these Australian icon-type things, which we know as well as our own mother, and yet everyone else on the board will be like "WTF (pardon my language - even though it is abbreviated!) is Aeroplane Jelly?"
