How's the Land Down Under? How are the kangaroos and how often do you see them? But hey it's peculiar that it's summer here and winter down there. Are you excited that World Youth Day pilgrimage is going to be held in Sydney? Are you familiar with Olivia Newton John? She's Australian too.
Anyway, it's nice to have an Australian fan of Ms. McKennitt's music. I know how much, you wanted to see this red-headed musician in person. Well, join the club, mate, some of us Loreenakateers are not so fortunate to meet the Lady of Quinlan Road herself and I am determined to see her. Well, wishing you the best, mate!

A little about myself and my family:

I am originally from Liverpool with parents from Galway, Ireland. I married a Welshman and my 3 children Liam (26), Kieran (20) and Siobhan (14) were born in Wales. We came over to Australia 12 years ago and live in Adelaide, South Australia.

My children are all musical, especially Siobhan who has been singing for many years, and is known around Adelaide for her beautiful, pure, haunting voice. She sings Celtic and classical songs and has just released a cd called "Purely Celtic". Siobhan met French singer/harpist Cecile Corbel on MySpace and when Cecile toured Australia earlier this year, she invited Siobhan to sing at one of her shows at the Adelaide Fringe Festival. This inspired Siobhan to learn the harp, and she is picking it up really well.

It was when researching Celtic Music for Siobhan to sing that I came across Loreena McKennitt. I really hope Loreena comes to Australia one day. She has a big following here!
