My family are from Greece (2 generations ago). My father is from Winnipeg. I was born and raised in Michigan. I spent my childhood summers in what is now Thunder Bay, Ontario. Later, my family made the journey to Stratford, for the plays. Crossing the border from the US into Canada instantly brought a feeling of peace for me. It was in Canada that my love for the British Isles was born; most of my Greek grandparents' friends were from Scotland, England or Ireland. To this day, the sound of bagpipes is as moving to me as the sound of my own, Greek music. Anyway, this is a lovely website. I really love Loreena's music and look forward to learning and hearing more. I currently live in California. I'm 57 years old, a jazz and classical pianist.

Hale and well met. I envy you having being able to transit borders from US to Canada. I presume it was to the east coast of Canada.

Hello, I hope this reply reaches you! I am new to posting, and in fact have never participated in any online communities anywhere. But, I love Loreena's music, which resonates on so many levels for me. I love Canada, too. I am a musician and play the piano. I hope all is well with you! Matina.

Hello, Giannis! Thanks for the reply! I used to speak Greek pretty well, since we went to Greek School at church every weekday when I was a child. Now, I am very, very rusty in speaking. Are you now living in Greece? Are you a student there? I had not checked for messages on Loreena's website, but will try do so more regularly. This is really amazing to meet such lovely and caring people! Thank you! Matina
