As it is well known around the world, Latin America's fame is that of a socially convulsioned country continent. But, it's not my desire to discuss about that: is just that, still knowing this, is there any chance of Loreena coming to Latin America sometime (specificly to Colombia)?

Loreena, this is a story I'm sure you would like to read:

I am 21 year old man today, and both of my grandfathers (my mom and my dad's father) died at the same moment, and I was only 7 years old. But I can't complain for loosing them because they taught me and raised values in me that have multiplied today.

My father's father had a secret hidden library at his house that none knew about -not even me-, you can imagine the size of the two floor house: he had a small zoo (he loved animals and plants) at open air, an enormous backyard, an adult pinetree at the entrance, etc... I found the hidden library first about 3 years ago when my grandmother died, and in it, I found thousends of books (actually we counted a bit more than 3000), most of them where about ancient history, but one of them called my attention into the celtic world (for some reason, most of the books in the library were about celtic history), and as I consider myself as a music lover, I had to find music that wraped me with celtic storys, and you, Loreena, have accompanied me thru the reading.

For some strange reason, everytime I played any song of yours (actually any kind of celtic music) at the place where I first found the library, the wind begun to blow; I say it's strange because if I stop the music, the wind stops too. once I played the book of secrets there, I started to remember my granfather, and I fell asleep... I dreamed with him, and he told me in my dream that the house was falling, and that I had to get the animals out quick. A couple of days later, a state judge decided that, as my grandfather left nothing about the house or anything inside it in the testament and as the state had a road project that was suppose to pass on where the house was, then the government was going to keep the house until the demolishion day.

I wanted to know why my grandfather left 3000 books buried in the backyard, in a secret library. Today (disgracefully for me) those books were donated to a public library and the house was bought by the government (against our wishes), the animals donated to a real zoo (where they now lived captive in small cages), the pinetree was choped to pieces, and the last I saw of it was it's demolishion.

Still so, i managed to take about 300 books out from the collection before they were donated, and I kept the dogs that guarded the house and sent some monkeys back to the amazon along with some birds and a snake... I did my best to save them from captivity. I can proudly say that I was inspired by this ethereal voice and that magic harp of yours Loreena.

It's hard to explain all the difficultties I had to surpass to send the animals back to the amazon, and how I got my hands on those books, I only did what my other grandfather taught me once: "when you find yourself in hard situation: do the most elegant thing to do... that's what real men would..." Oh, by the way: Hi Loreena, and on some happy animals in the amazon behalf (and some happy books in my private collection hehehe): THANK YOU!...

Greetings, Frank;

Welcome to the Community! The story of how you "discovered" the music of Loreena McKennitt is interesting, to say the very least, as is the one about your grandfather's "stash" of books (in his "secret" library). Gods, how I wish I could read some of those....At least you managed to rescue a good percentage of them from people who don't truly care about them. May all those who mistreat books suffer thousands of tiny paper cuts, all on the same finger.......

Some day, you will be able to see Loreena in concert, and perhaps you will have an opportunity to tell her your story in person. Until that day, "keep the faith" and do not give up on Hope! Cool

Frank, hello there! Smiler

Latin America here too! Colombia has such a wonderful people and places to go, Im from Buenos Aires, Argentina and I think that by now Ms. McKennitt must be considering the fact of a tour from these sides that love her too.
And the reason she never came before it would be like the engine to make her give the big step and come to different latitudes, geographies with rich cultures and incredible people and musical legacies. So, I dont have any doubt, the day is very near to come. Smiler

Reading your email I found a phrase I liked: ¨raised values in me that have multiplied today¨.. its wonderful to listen this, youth nowadays doesnt even know where to run first and the word values its not on their ¨dictionary¨.. congrats. Smiler

Regards.
