i often wonder about Loreena's choices for her lyrics, since i am so fond of them!has any of you ever thought what he would want to hear Loreena sing?do you have any favourite poems, that is,that you dream Loreena would turn into a wonderful song through her music?for example i have some favourite poems, like oscar wilde's "the new helen","sonnet",numerous greek poems, too,or even some parts from ancient greek tragedies, ike sofocles's "antigone".i think that this can give you some food for thought...! It would be nice to hear Loreena sing my favourite song of all time "Who Knows Where the Time Goes?" by Sandy Denny. I would like to hear her version and how she interprets it. I somehow can't imagine her singing Wuthering Heights as Vale said-it somehow wouldn't be her style-though I am in love with Kate Bush-perhaps her song "A Womans Work" would be better-but I think I would enjoy Loreena's original music more.

I would prefer her to interpret a classic poem by either an Eastern or Western poet. Maybe something by AE (George William Russell) or Fiona McLeod (William Sharp) or William Blake. In the East we have Rumi, Tagore, Kabir. Some suggestion- "Last Lines" by Emily Bronte, "Into the Silence" by James Rhoades or "Sudden Light" by Dante Gabriel Rossetti.

well I absolutly love the song Beneath A Phrygian Sky, So much it has inspired me to write poetry about Phrygia and its inhabitants. Basically anything from greek mythology. It totally amazed me how she sang The Lady Of Shalott as well as The Highwayman, Those are some of my favorite poems and I look forward to hearing more like them.

cheers, Dan

Everything from Greek Mythology !!

I think Loreena has done great work with Penelope...I would love to hear her sing about the story of Persephone (who have been raped from Ades) , the tragic love story of Orpheas and Euridike etc

You can find so many greek myths with moral subject that can be transformed into lovely pieces...

I'd like to hear Loreena's version of Kate Bush's "Wuthering Heights". Don't you think it would be a great song to sing for Loreena? I mean, with that extraordinary voice she has, she could give new life to that masterpiece.

Talking about poems, it would be very nice to set "The Ballad Of Reading Gaol" (by Oscar Wilde) to music. I find that ballad very topical and relevant today, and Loreena's tragic musical attitude would perfectly fit the message of the poem.
I'd like to hear a song inspired by the figure of Virginia Woolf, but that's just because she's my favourite writer.

I'd like to hear Loreena sing in more different languages: that's why I am so looking forward to getting to hear "Dante's Prayer/ Spanish version". Some italian traditionals are very suitable for her voice (think of "Caruso").

I have always loved the poem The Cinnimon Peeler by Michael Ondatje but I know this is not a poem she would sing. Being a big lover of Tennyson and Yeats I will look forward to more of thier work hopefully put to music in the future.
