Needless to say, one of Loreena's most popular songs is The Mummers' Dance. So popular, in fact, that I have heard many artists covering that song. I've heard everything: the good, the bad, and the downright UGLY!!!!!! In one of the versions the singer sounded drunk. And not just The Mummers' Dance, but Dante's Prayer, Marco Polo, etc. And most of them, putting it nicely, don't sound that great. (There was one really good cover of Dante's Prayer, though, sung by Meav Ni Mhaolchatha from Celtic Woman). So I was wondering, are artists asking for permission or just going, "I like this song, so I'll just do my own version and put it on an album"? What are some of your oppinions?
