Now that the season is upon us, snow or no snow, it's always good to get out To Drive the Cold Winter Away and A Winter Garden! Of course they stand as some of my favorite Christmas albums forever. I love to play TDCWA at night, with the little white lights shining, and the snow falling outside. For me that's the best part of the holidays. Snow! Make it snow please!

I hope your Holidays, and the days following were as enjoyable as you have expressed. For even in winter an isolated patch of snow has a special quality.
Personally I enjoy the weather to be as Hot as it can, and to be out in the middle of it all. Yet if one loves the earth as I, You, and so many others here, would we not be small to not appreciate the adornament of every season....
Thanks for sharing your thoughts.....
In the words of William Alexander:
Earth teach me to forget myself as melted snow forgets its life. Earth teach me resignation as the leaves which die in the fall. Earth teach me courage as the tree which stands all alone. Earth teach me regeneration as the seed which rises in the spring.
What ever the season...Life, Earth and above has such pure beauty... Be well friend...

It didn't seem appropriate to listen to Christmas songs before, even though I was so curious. And in the end it was worth waiting. I hardly listened to anything else this winter. My absolute favourite is "Snow" followed by "The King" and "Balulalow".
Since I moved out this autumn and my family is living 400 km away, I sent my father the some youtube videos of the songs and he liked them as well.
Now I am already looking forward to next winter when I'll get me A Midwinter Nights Dream as a pre-Chrismas present!
Wishing all of you a Happy New Year, Anni

Oh well, I don't think it's snowing ANYWEHERE anymore! Grr to Global Warming! Can't anybody understand we need snow to fully enjoy winter? Oh well. Hehe! That's a good idea; watch the Christmas Tree, and maybe you'll just imagine the snow, and the experience will stay the same. Good luck with your studies, and I hope you find some time to enjoy the lovely season, snow or no snow!

I like it when it snows, too! Today my father and sister decorated our Christmas tree... unfortunately I couldn't take part in the decoration this year: I'm quite busy with university exams, and I've just finished revising "Political Science" for tomorrow's exam. As a result, the tree is less kitsch this year: when my sister and I took care of it last year, it was kind of "flashy", but nobody dared to point that out to us . My father has a more artistic taste, and prefers "removing" to "adding". On the contrary, I like this year's crib much more than last year's: it's kind of "arabic", covered with moss and very "multiracial" and "multicultural". Again, the result is all due to my father's talent!
When I finish my exams, I'll surely start listening to "To Drive The Cold Winter Away", but I think I'll listen to "An Ancient Muse" rather than to "A Winter Garden". "In Praise Of Christmas" is one of my favourite songs by Loreena.
I wish it snowed, but unfortunately it's unnaturally hot here! It snowed only on the top of the Alps... I hope it gets colder soon. Well, I think I'll have to watch the xmas tree, and not the falling snow, while I listen to "TDTCWA"...
