"Come By The Hills" is made up of 4 strophes: the first and the last are identical ("come by the hills to the land where fancy is free..."), the second starts with the words "come by the hills to the land where life is a song...".
The lyrics for the third strophe are not written either in the album booklet or in the "explore the music" section on this website. I think it begins with "come by the hills to the land where legend remains..."... but I'm not sure I've got it right... I can't find the lyrics for this part of the song.
Can anybody please write the words Loreena sings in the third strophe? Thank you very much to anyone who wishes to help.

Come By The Hills is one of my all time favourite songs from childhood. I loved that Loreena recorded a version of this song. The third stanza from the printed lyrics in the album is as follows:
Come by the hills to the land where legend remains. Where stories of old stir the heart and may yet come again. Where the past has been lost and the future is still to be one. And cares of tomorrow must wait till this day is done.

"Come By The Hills" is track n°8 on "Elemental", one of my top-3 Loreena album. Well, if you like "Parallel Dreams", you'll find almost the same atmosphere in "Elemental" too. It's surely worth buying (EVERY Loreena album is worth buying!!): "Banks Of Claudy", "Kellswater", "Blacksmith" and "Come By The Hills" are epochal tracks!

... eheh, I didn't sing real English words, I just mumbled something like "where stories of oh-feel-the-aah"..., or "and the future hastings-to-be-waah...".
Hehe, I do that sometimes too, usually because I'm too lazy to look up the words. What album is Come by the Hills on? I only have The Visit, The Mask and the Mirror, and The Book of Secrets (though Parallel Dreams is on the way from Amazon! )

Thank you again, Hadewey, and thank you Cymbelinus (I love your name, "Cymbeline" is one of my favourites by Loreena) for writing the traditional words.

The traditional words of the third verse, as arranged by the Scot artist Paul Murray, are:
"Come by the hills to the land where legends remain, Where stories of old fill the hearts and may yet come again, Where the past has been lost, and the future has still to be won; And the cares of tomorrow must wait till this day is done."
Yes, long live artistic freedom and diversity!!! (the only difference I can hear between the words you wrote and the ones Loreena sings is "must" instead of "can"...).
THANK YOU, now I can sing "Come By The Hills" without any self-invented words! ....

I listened to it, and could make most of it. The few words I missed, I found on the internet:
"Come by the hills to the land where legend remains. The stories of old still the heart and may yet come again, Where the past has been lost, the future is still to be won; And cares of tomorrow can wait till this day is done."
I also found that LM's version is a little different from the one I found on the net. But I am all for artistic freedom!
