Hello everybody! I don't know if this topic has appeared before, but I thought you'd be happy to know there's a Spanish version of 'Dante's prayer' only available from Barnes and Noble, from what I know. It is included in a special product called 'The journey begins', and this is the link to it: http://music.barnesandnoble.com/search/product.asp?z=y&EAN=774213912329&itm=5 I have it and it's a lovely piece. All the best,
Thank you very much for your nice comment about Spanish! I'm glad to know that I have a French "neighbour" who is so interested in Spanish, I love French, too! I think the lyrics of this song are very, very deep, in both languages, best regards!
Gracias Manel...

Hello! I'm new to this message board, so I apologize if this has been asked before. I searched around the site, but couldn't find what I was looking for...
I just recently discovered the Spanish version of "Dante's Prayer" and was trying to figure out the lyrics. It's pretty close to the English, so far as I can tell, but there's still some parts that I can't quite make out. Can anyone help fill in the blanks, or make corrections?
Thanks in advance!!

Hello Jeanne and thanks a lot for your response, I have to say my case is similar to yours, I had to wait until I had some money saved to buy this special set of cd's, I really wanted to hear that song...and I have a friend who happily kept the 'repeated' cd's (he's Adrià, one of my best friends who I think became a new Loreena fan after attending the concert in Barcelona, now he likes classical music...and Loreena Mckennitt!!! ). I understand the issue of having enough room for Loreena's collection, I agree it isn't really a problem, it's just the opposite! All the best,

I bought the first seven studio CDs, including 'A Winter Garden', in their original formats, and a few months later purchased them all again, just so I'd have not only the full set of Remastered CDs but also a full set of CDs which have the 'No Journey's End' DVD with them! Therefore, I have everything on the first three of those Barnes & Noble discs from the 'exclusive' set already--twice.
And, I purchased both a 'regular' and a Collector's Edition of 'Live in Paris and Toronto', so guess that takes care of those live versions of 'The Bonny Swans' and 'The Lady of Shalott' on the fourth Barnes & Noble disc two times as well, right?
Moving right along: I'd already bought the single of 'The Mummer's Dance', therefore, I've got that remix. Also, I'd purchased the 'Marco Polo' single just to have the Abdelli version of 'God Rest Ye Merry, Gentlemen'. So, there's two more off that fourth disc, even if I did only pay for those two song versions once.
Consequently, there was only ONE song I didn't have, and couldn't obtain unless I bought all that other music yet again, via the Barnes & Noble set...but exactly how many times are any of us supposed to purchase 'exclusive editions' of CDs, just to be able to have and listen to ONE otherwise unpurchasable song? (After all, this song was only available in the US through that FOUR-disc collection.) Rhetorical question only, that...
I shouldn't complain; a sympathetic person already 'gave' me the Spanish 'Dante's Prayer' (sent via the 'net here) quite awhile back so I could hear it, at least; I LOVE the piece! It's an incredibly gorgeous version of this song! Of course, I can only listen to it over my PC speakers here...
I do wish it could somehow eventually be placed onto a legitimately purchasable CD (ONE CD, please) consisting of only songs 'not otherwise recorded' or 'not recorded on any known studio or live CD' or 'not otherwise reasonably purchasable or available' so that I could buy it plus those other such songs correctly. Such a CD would be a true gift! Wouldn't nearly all of us buy it? Wouldn't lots of other folks, as well? Could Quinlan Road manage to arrange something like this, possibly? Even the Barnes & Noble stores will one day run clear out of their 'exclusive' editions, I'm thinking...
I'm just not 'into' downloads, and mere CDRs burned from mp3s or wma files leave a LOT to be desired...maybe I'm just too 'old' or 'old-fashioned', but I prefer listening to music played directly off the 'real' CDs; it SOUNDS much better, far richer, to me.
Just, I don't wanna have to buy that little exclusive four-disc B&N set, for one song! Not to mention, I'm running kinda short on CD storage room anyway, and you should see how much space is already taken up, with Loreena's music! The size of my 'Loreena collection' is becoming rather comical, considering all the current duplications!
But there will always be room for another CD, or even several more CDs, of Loreena's songs which I don't already have. (I'll FIND room!) Make sense?
Hi Gina! It's nice to talk to you again...the answer is YES, it is Loreena singing in Spanish,! It'S a very, very interesting lovely piece of music. Take care and enjoy it!
