This tune is said to be the first piece composed by Irish harpist Turlough O'Carolan.
Written in 1791 near Lough Scur, it commemorates a legendary battle of the Kings of the Gentry, the bands of fairies who occupied two local hills, Si Bheag and Si Mhor.
It is really fun to hear this version of Eleanor Plunkett. I just learned playing it...! Although I do not play it with that many "extra" notes. Meening the notes played before the actual tone, the quick tones (this is rather hard to explain when you don't know the exact english musically expression).
Thank you for bringing this.
Sincerely Anxious 2
