Well all this time I know Loreena's music I have seen many titles to be given on her music style....

From Amazon to personal reviews people have been refering to it either as :

- Celtic
- Celtic New Age
- Celtic Alternative
- Folk Music
- Ethnic/World Music

I know that its a special kind ..its LOREENA's music..but which style do u think is approaching more to ?

Well to my opinion I call it:

"Celtic music with Mediteranean elements"
or
"Mediteranean music on a Celtic base"

what do you think about ?

I perfere Loreena's words, "eclectic celtic". She is NOT new age, how can you describe her works from centuries ago as new? And needs no box. At times I ask people if they like eclectic celtic music and some times they say, "Yes" then I proceed with, "Isn't she wonderful? I just love her voice." They always respond with a confused look on their face, so explain about Loreena and her music and they become fans as well.

The other way I describe her works, "BEAUTIFUL"!

I think that since Loreena incorporates so many different styles into her music, the closet would be "World Music". It has a very celtic base, but Loreena travels so much and uses so many elements of so many different types of music, it's hard to classify her. I see her under "Pop/Rock" at some places like Borders or Tower Records, and That just makes me go "what?" because that's pretty much as far from her music as you can get!

Hmm, her music is actually hard to catergorize since it has Celtic, Spanish, and Middle Eastern influences. However, it has a recurring Celtic theme... I'd say Celtic/World music.

I usually describe her music to people as "Celtic with a lot of Middle-Eastern flavor". Since she mostly writes and composes her own stuff, aside from the arranged verse, etc, she's in a self-made genre, I think. It's hard to place something so artful and unique.
