Let's say you are now face to face with Loreena. If there was time for one handshake (or hug), an introduction, and only one question, what would it be? What would you ask her? Wink

Malin, I am not surprised that you met Ms. McKennitt. I can tell by that little photo beside your posts. I would definitely LOVE to see her and sit down and talk to her like I am talking to someone from Heaven like a saint or angel. Yep, she seems to be one heck of a Canadian chick.

I would ask Loreena: "Do you like listening to Enya?"

And I can tell you, her hands are really soft X)

Im not the type of person that would go up to someone like that. Especially with someome I don't know. If I were introduced to her for some reason then I would probably ask her something like "how's it going?" or "how are you doing?" just like any regular conversation.

That time came for me today (oct 23, 2007) I sat down to eat breakfast and she was at the table next to me and when she finished,I asked her for her autograph. Of course I made a fool out of myself and couldn't form whole sentences. After I got her autograph she came over to my table to talk to me and my grandparents. I struggled to talk while they did it effortlessly. She asked me if i played any instraments and I hve no clue why but i then told her i was in highschool, i can't make any sense of why i had said that. My grand father then had to tell that i play the penny whistle.
I guess I was was just in shock that she was in front of me and taking to me. But she is a very nice person and understood why I was fumbling for words.
Hopefully I will run into her next year and do better... Hopefully.

I wonder about her interests other than music and her charitable acts, is it walks, gardens, travel, her home?

I hope this doesn't offend anyone, but I would ask her if she would object to someone making a heavier, more metal/goth rock version of "All Souls Night." While I love all of Loreena's music as she performs it, I have also heard, in my head, where a good heavy rock band could do a fantastic version of that specific song. To me, it's no different than Judas Priest doing Joan Baez's "Diamonds and Rust" or Nazareth doing Joni Mitchell's "This Flight Tonight." Maybe some rockhead would discover Loreena's music, and who knows what that could lead to.

Aye, ok, I see we have similar tastes (Is there a pun?) ... Forgive me, as I'm a bit of a health nut. I am so glad someone likes Garlic Rancy dressing as much as I do.

But we do need an abduction plan. We can always place Mark in the trunk - with egg nog and cookies. (Sowwy Mark - we'll allow Loreena her cell phone so she can call you and give you directions)...

So, I'm all ready... Cool

Cool Dennis. I'm bringing my best mitt. *Shan ransacks the items in her tomboy years' chest-box*

Play ball! I'm having a nostalgic moment here. Can you tell? In 'dodgeball', the girls would always run away, so Jennifer and I went to play with the 'guys'. Talk about a double treat, lol.

*Shan composes herself*

Wait, I'll be satisfied looking at the game Dennis. Don't worry 'bout me. I'll bring the lunch bag...d'ya like veggies? Chicken?
Ya know Dennis, the only way she'll come is if we abduct her. Call me and we'll figure out a plan.
Don't worry Loreena, we won't starve you. <mischievous grin>
Cool

Hmmm... Well I have met her, and I think my first question was, "Did you get your speakers?". The rest is a bit hazy because my inner bumbling idiot made a spontaneous appearance.

A bit of background, I build speakers for a living, and I've been using her music to test my speakers for about 15 years now, and when I found myself building several pairs as holiday gifts for friends last year, I decided to build one for her too.

We established that she had in fact received them (she's quite animated when excited), but I don't believe she'd had a chance to actually listen to them yet, so my one burning question should I get the chance to speak to her again would be for her thoughts on their performance.

But perhaps she might need someone to build custom speakers specifically tailored to the acoustics of whatever room in which the day's reiki/hair-brushing session will be taking place!

Old Elf -
You made me spontaneously laugh. Aye, ofcourse you can be one.
But I must say, you are a wise elf, therefore I hereby inaugurate you into the "Wise Clan of Elves"... take your rightful place on the "Elf Throne". Wink

I must find a way to clean the soot off of Loreena when she comes down the chimney... (amusing thought, no doubt). And to make certain there's an ample supply of egg nog and cookies for everyone.

You know Old Elf, methinks there's a bit of Elvish roots in me also, as I tend to tease a wee much at times... naturally, when no one understands that I'm pulling on their nogan a little bit, it's of no surprise that I end up small and looking at the bottom crevice of their door... (that is, indeed, a strange visual)...

But Elves do make up for their height. They can fit in places where no one else can go. Alas, that's where Loreena's little helpers could come in... she'd send them down the chimney instead...(HAHA).. *Shan, once again composes herself*

Old Elf, in a nutshell, your wisdom serves great value to all. Thank you for being YOU.

Blessings,
Shan xx
