I recorded this last night with a fairly decent microphone at my friend's house... I am not very good but this was fun! The song is one of my favorites! I wanted to add another layer of harmony but I didn't want to risk messing it up anymore than it already was! Haha!

Blessings!

I think this is beautiful. The sparcity of a capella singing really suits this piece & the harmonies are lovely.

By the way, just to clarify (although I'm sure you already figured this out): by that quote I meant you and me, LMfan, not myself and Loreena! Eeker As if I could match her obviously superior skills! (although I suppose I would have an amazing vocal range if I had been singing for as long as she has been!)

I was actually listening to The Bonny Swans today...but not sung by LM! I brought my new ukulele to school today, just so I could show off, and sat down outside at recess ('coz I'd run out of people to show off to!) playing and singing The Bonny Swans to myself (in the key of C...OR if you want to be picky: A minor!Big Grin)

But I think Bonny Swans is sung in B minor! But my sheets are in C minor! Which caused me, when I had played it on my piano, to put on the CD because I thought it sounded different. And by then I found out my ears heard right. It wasn't the key she sings it!

I got the sheet music as well, and was also confused Confused but I figured it out soon enough...

Most of her songs I can sing quite comfortably in their original keys such as Dark Night of the Soul, Caravanserai and The Highwayman. Yes, I do play along with heaps of her songs, perhaps even too many! I just figured out how to play Raglan Road tis morning! That's not as amazing as it sounds, because I'm just a chord-basher. I didn't actually figure out each individual note that she plays!

Lastly, did I use the words "too many" in reference to songs by LM? How stupid of me! You can never have too much of her music!

I wouldn't mind hearing a more complex version if you have the time to record it, though.
I'm musically talented myself, so I could hear one or two glitches, but that's only me being picky. I was wondering what your vocal range actually is? The notes didn't sound that high to me...I suppose you're a bass, and not a tenor?
You have a great voice! I wouldn't mind hearing any other covers of Lm songs you might just want to arrange.

Thank you many times!! Big Grin I have at least two other songs from Loreena I think I could cover without totally butchering them! And on the range of my voice... it's complicated! haha! But I am tenor... It's not a good situation, I can't go terribly low or high with good quality. I have a "one octave" range, really, but I'm working on that! Big Grin It makes singing music by Loreena difficult since she has quite a few octaves! Smiler Does anyone know how many she actually has?

Apologies if that perticular sentance sounded like I was up myself...I meant it as consructive critisism only.

That's ok! Big Grin I know! I hate the glitches! haha! Your critique isn't harsh at all! I know what you mean!

You have a nice voice.

I like the second voice very much. Is it yourself or your friend singing that voice?

thank you! I tried!

it's all me... The second voice is better because I didn't have to hit higher notes, I have a very small range and do better in lower tones. Lol! it all me though!

Hi LMF!!!
Boy every time I turn around there you are! That's no complaint.
Have you shared The Three Ravens" here? If not you should and if you did, I haven't seen it yet.
BB
)O(

Oh, almost forgot, you are talented! Haven't I said that enough? I'll never stop!!!
