I want to emphasize in this post that, in my opinion, every song of every Loreena Mckennitt's disc is a delight. In general when I listen to a CD of some singer always there appear songs of minor quality, which I am called affectionatly " songs of fill ". In case of Loreena She impresses me discovering that all of them present an incredible quality. Because of it (because you us have had almost 10 years without your music, bad girl ;-), what we love you!!!!) she is my singer and favorite composer. But ever there are songs that have come to me directly to the heart for her music or her feeling when she is singing it.
Obviously these are the songs that more I hear in every CD that I have.
Elemental: She Moved Through the Fair Parallel Dreams: Annachie Gordon The Visit: The Old Ways The Mask and Mirror: The Bonny Swans The Books of Secrets: Dante's Prayer An Ancient Muse: Caravanserai, Penelope's Song, Never-ending Road (sorry but 2 years are not sufficient for my to decide only on a song of this disc ;-))
It's funny I guess I could pick my favorites of each CD but I won't - ok, one outstanding song to me is Highwayman - it has something epic that touches me...
I've always enjoyed Loreena's CDs as a "whole". I put them on and my journey begins. Dreaming of other countries and places in different times - just letting my thoughts drift away.
Dear friends, When I want to search myself, when I want strenght to face the day by day problems, I listen to "Breaking the Silence" from Paralell Dreams. This music has the capacity to take my soul and put it up, over the sky and stars.
Hi Highwayman and Jesse: Thanks you. Jesse....your list are growing and growing like a tree in the forest...next step will be: TDTCWA: all cd PD: all cd .....lol....I can understand you!!!

Hello everybody. Forgive the absence but I have been of vacations a few days and the return to the work has been a madness. Thanks to Malin, Jesse (little crazy friend, lol), Enymphia, lilymaid, Bart and Ramona. It is a pleasure for me can know your favorite song....we have a new album and I hope L.M. are working in other ;-).
Cintia: I love your introduction. You are so right, I could not had said it better. But this is still very hard, almost too hard. There is so much inspiration in every song... but I will try
Elemental - The Stolen Child (enchanted me from the first time I heard it) To Drive the Cold Winter Away - In praise of christmas (magic.) Parallel Dreams - Annachie Gordon, Huron beltane (When I get a harp, I will learn to play Annachie, it is such a beautiful song. And the firedance triggers the imagination like no other song does to me) The Visit - All souls night (I used it to scare my grandmother. She listen to stuff like The Eagles... ) The Mask and Mirror - Marrakesh night market (did not like it at all first. Would you like my mask?) A Winter Garden - Good king Wenceslas (Cheerful) The Book of Secrets - The highwayman (the first song I heard. Love it) An Ancient Muse - The gates of Istanbul (Enticing. The live version kicks butt.) A midwinter night's dream - Noel Nouvelet (might have misspelt that.)

I know, what you're all thinking...you're all thinking "hmm that silly Jesse! he can't make up his mind" and maybe I can't, but I just bought An Ancient Muse recently, and after listening to it (several times now, Anxious 2!), would like to once again, update my favourites (although I will only list those from AAM)
NEVER ENDING ROAD!!!!! I think this is the best of EVERY LM song!!
although not by much...

I understand what you're saying Cintia, and I feel the same way. There are some lines in Dante's Prayer that always makes my throat curl up in a special way, and my eyes fills with tears. When I saw LM live in Copenhagen last year I cried throughout the whole of Dante's Prayer.. a silent, happy and enchanted cry.
My first LM song was The Lady of Shalott, and its one of my favourites. Huron Beltane makes me dance each time I listen to it.
It´s difficult to explain my feelings while I listen to Dante´s prayer; I feel desires of crying too, but for me, is quite difficult to understand the real message of this song; the same happen with The Mystic´s Dream; perhaps is that I need to learn more English!
Well, Penelope´s song, Never-ending Road really make my heart beat stronger. Anyway, all her songs are really special for me, and no other artist make me feel more strong feelings than Loreena, and like Cintia, is quite difficult to express all this torrent of emocions. (I need a better diccionary )
Thank you for sharing all this feelings^^

Just acquired a new favorite from the 24-hour streaming of the new album, so I must add to the list...
A Midwinter Night's Dream - The Holly and the Ivy. Ranks right up there with Snow for stunning imagery, and is right on time as I begin my perperations for the 6-hour journey to the Circle for Samhain.

Hi Cintia, I preordered today, so I have listened to it (the free download) a couple of times. All of it is very beautiful and I could easily pick several more favorites, but Un Flambeau, Jeanette, Isabelle is just too much fun, so it's still my favorite. Hopefully we'll know your choice soon!
