As I told in my introduction, I'm 25 now, and was introduced at age 12! ( now I feel old.... ) My uncle got me hooked, as he does a lot when concerning music..... It all started with The Visit, and there isn't a day going by, that I don't listen to LM or check on the website. I can agree with people who find comfort in her music, and spirituality. Her music has done that for me since the day I was introduced to this angelic voice and ultimately bright and empathic mind...

A good friend introduced me to Loreena's music when I was only fifteen, though at that time he did not mention her name or other details. Two years later, he sent me a tape from his new residence, containing some really nice songs from the new age/celtic genres, among them some of Loreena's he had let me listen to already, but this time they were with title and artist. It was astonishing. Some months later, during a journey, I bought the "Book of Secrets". I adored it, as I adored all her albums afterwards. I feel so lucky to have met her so young.
I have to say it was at least a little bit dumb luck that I found Loreena's music in the first place. I was on full-time travel for a large computer company that will remain nameless and, as is often the case when you're tired of staring at the hotel walls, I went out to the local shopping area. The Borders there happened to have one of her CD's (The Visit) on the demo headsets they spread around the music section. I picked it up for reasons I can no longer recall and that imediately became irrelavent anyway. I was hooked, and I haven't looked back since.

I'm turning 19 next Friday, so my vote was "19 or younger". I discovered Loreena 3 years ago; my passion for Ireland and the Celts comes from the search for GOOD music. I remember I had bought an album by an English girl band, and after listening to it I thought: "This is AWFUL!". Then I turned the TV on and I saw the video "Only Time" by Enya... it was love at first sight! (I already knew her since I had played some of her songs on the piano when I used to take lessons, but this time was the decisive one).
One year after, I discovered an older friend of mine knew Enya too, and he advised me to listen to Loreena. I had "Elemental" as a Christmas gift. I remember the first time I listened to "Blacksmith": I was shocked, I had never heard such a song before that!!! The other albums came in my hands in less than a year, though it was quite difficult to find "A Winter Garden". There's no Loreena's song I don't like, every album is a masterpiece!!! My favourite is "The Visit" (up to now... up to Nov. 20 2006....), my favourite songs are "The Lady Of Shalott", "Dante's Prayer", "All Souls Night", "Dickens Dublin (The Palace)" (brings me to tears!), "Marco Polo", "Santiago"... Wow, I'd list all of them!

well since I'm only 17 (nearly eighteen) I'd have to go for 19 or younger. I actually started listening to LM's music when I was hmmmmm 15 (that's the first time I actually bought a celtic CD called 'The Celtic Circle')

An interesting poll. A lot of this can have to do with the age we were when Loreena started performing. If you have only discovered her music recently it might have to do with peer pressure of what was acceptable to listen to when you were younger. Of course none of us intelligent free thinking Loreena Fans would ever succumb to peer pressure.
