Dear all, As some of you will know by know, I am very much into singing/making music. I compose my own songs and also play / sing traditionals and Loreena's songs. I recently joined a contest, and with that contest I can win a performance at a festival in Amsterdam (in the Netherlands) called 'De Uitmarkt'. It's in August. I had to upload 1 or more (I did more) videos on their audition page. In about a month they will look which video has the most viewers. 10 videos will remain and on those, people can vote. The winner will win a performance at the 'Uitmarkt'.
My question to you is: could you please click this link (by doing that, you watch one of my videos I put on there, and this one already has the most views, of the 5 I posted, it has more than 558 at the moment). I picked this song, not because I thought it was my best song, but because it already has so many views. So, this one makes a chance, I hope.

I wasn't trying to be critical either. Your voice is strong and even, your breathing is good and you can sing in the same key as your guitar...and...a LOT of people record in the bathroom. The acoustics seem to work better there...Practice practice practice....

Okay, I haven't heard this with sound yet, but I thought that any fan of Loreena's would know exactly what good music is, so in my opinion, that makes her good enough to win!
I'll try and watch it again with sound sometime. Before I do, however, I have to agree with dlaws99; some eye contact would be appreciated. Also, may I ask why you filmed this in a bathroom? It looks very odd. Maybe you could try a background that compliments the song a bit more. I understand that you may have been making the video with the focus being on the music itself more than what we are seeing, but if you are going to do it that way, then maybe you should have a slideshow of pictures or something instead.
I hope you don't think I'm being way too critical of your performance (like I said, I haven't seen it with sound yet so for all I know, you could sound so good that it doesn't matter what you look like!). It sounds like you are planning a career in the entertainment industry. I am too and I'm sure you know just as well as I do how DIFFICULT it is to get into that sort of thing. I've already posted way too much, but please know that I am trying to give you some help from one budding performer to another!
I live by the "if you can't say anything nice, don't say anything at all" rule, so if I didn't like you, I wouldn't have posted anything here at all!
Anyway, like I said, I've written way too much. So I'm going to shut up now

Hi Lisette, I enjoyed your singing and your song. I will keep my fingers cross that you will have the opportunity to sing at Uitmarkt! Keep going! Also, if you ever make a CD or even have a website please let us all know!

Good job Lisette. That was very well done. If you don't mind one suggestion, try it without looking at your guitar fingering and look at the camera like it was an audience. Keep up the good work!
