A bit of a reflection back at you. .

Inteligence is a matter of perception, not an actual measured thing. Are we, dumb humans, as intelligent as dolphins, who are one with their environment, the birds in their migrations, or the cat that has figured out how to get YOU to fawn over it, feed it, and take care of, while it sheds all over the place, and makes a general nuisance of itself?
It is interesting to conjecture about life "out there". It exists. . what it looks like, and how it functions, is the intriguing part of the question. Scientists have all these rules and formulae about how things are supposed to work, but they are always gong back and adjusting things when they find new data and discoveries. No one had any idea about he tube worms, fish, and life existing 15,000 feet deep in our oceans, but it IS there, away from light, and thriving. 25 years ago it was impossible, today it is proven fact.
As we "evolve", I hope we finally come to the realization that we are just another species in this vast Universe of quadrilions of stars, and trillions of worlds. Our arrogance in seeing ourselves as the ultimate being often makes me question our own intelligence.
So, who is more intelligent, those stranded on their planet, fretting over their pathetic short-lived lives. . . or truly enlightened beings many times our ability, who see us as a tasty snack in the near future?
Remember. . History is written by the Victorious. . and intelligence is determined by surviving as a species. Cats out-smarted the human race 15,000 years ago.
