I have found that as I age...my tastes in music have expanded...I like all kinds of music. Usually it is the actual music that I listen to first...then the vocals. I find extraordinary music amongst all types of music...I think it is the layering of different sounds, instruments and voices. It's simply amazing, and it gives me chills when somebody composes such music. Anyway...here are some of the artists/bands to whom I listen. Various Windham Hill Artists eg."Snuffy" Walden Clanaad Enya Dire Straits David Arkenstone Pink Floyd - love them! Nickleback REM U2 Altan The Chieftains ColdPlay Limp Bizkit The Cranberries Celtic Women Anuna Just to name a few! Don't get me started on my "oldies!" (1940s to 1970s)
Very interesting! I think we'll be finding a lot of coincidences:
Orla Fallon (she's made a wonderful album of traditional Irish songs) Andreja Malir Barbra Streisand (do you know her?) Michael Bolton Nightwish Eduardo Paniagua Maria del Mar Bonet (famous Catalan female singer with many different Mediterranean influences...) Shania Twain (she gives a simple positive message with lots of innocence and love, something that I think we need nowadays, just another Canadian treaure!) Cher Sarah Brightman Def Leppard Culture Club (their music always makes me feel happy) Mariza (beautiful fados...) world and traditional music in general ...
