Hi, y'all! Well, summer is upon us finally! (At least in N.America; Of course it's winter on the southern hemisphere!)
Just wanted to see how everyone's enjoying the season, be it winter or summer. I just got back from a two-week stay in Ireland
as a graduation present. I can't begin to tell you how much fun I had. I stayed in Dublin for three days and explored the
rest of the island, even Northern Ireland. I'm still trying to get used to driving on the right-hand side of the road (which
still seems like the wrong side!) And it was freakishly warm for Ireland, almost California weather! I'll try to organize
my pictures so I can show you all! So what's going on with you? Hopefully you're having fun! All the best! A

Hi Jo, I do apologize for answering your post so late. The best way to find out is look on the web. There are many great
sites that talk about trails in every detail. We are planing on hiking a 7 mile trail along the Ohanapokosh River on the
east side of Mr. Rainier that has many waterfalls. Lots Of Loreena, Gina[/QUOTE]
Hey thanks, Gina
We actually
ended up taking the higher road through the North Cascades, unintentionally. We had a Map Quest/sat-nav moment. ---Really
can't trust those things to think for you
But, it was so beautiful. It rained and was misty
and we did see quite a few waterfalls and a bear! Those are amazing mountains. I was wishing we had more time.
Next
time Mount Rainier and thanks again.
Hope your trip is good.
One thing I love about Loreena music is how perfectly
it goes with all things beautiful.
Jo

And when any of you do go to Ireland, have dinner at the new Arlington hotel in Dublin's Temple Bar region. There's a live
band, and Irish dance! And in the middle of their set, the dancers call up volunteers and they teach you a set dance! It
was amazing!

In Ireland there were a lot of mosquitos, too! I had about a dozen or so bug bites when we left
Kilkenny for Kilarny. Not as bad as 4th of July weekend (2008) in Milwaukee, WI, though!!

Hi, I'm
wondering, is there a half day hike in the Cascades you'd recommend that's OK for someone with a marginal knee joint? Or
a particular area you think is the highlight? I was there in my 20's (that would be sometime ago) but I remember being thoroughly awed. We'll be coming that
way through Victoria in a coupla weeks with an extra day to spare so we think we might have time. My 14 year old has just
made a long list of all the parks she wants to go to before 2015. This particular goal of hers thrills me quit a bit more
than most and so I want to do my part. I'd be grateful for any ideas you have. Jo
Have a great season!!!

Yes definitely JUMP AT IT or
as we say "Carpe Diem"! I've been getting to travel so much lately that I'm feeling almost spoiled.. I have to remind my self
that I haven't always been able to, in order to feel wholly good about it. I do hope that everyone on this list, who wants
to, gets the chance sooner or later.
So I guess we returned to the US on the same day! Our trip was to Southern
Spain and the UK. My best was Orkney, hands down. That place has soul and one practically floats in the sense of the ages,
layer by layer. I don't really think that it was all because of Loreena's music, BUT, walking around the Ring of Brodgar
and Stenness at dusk while listening to Standing Stones was...
what can I say.
And yes, it WAS because of
this song that we went there at all.
I hear you about the flight, not to sound too old, but imagine being 10 X's a
few years older-- uh-huh, the flight IS rough, like child birth, and so worth it after it's over
I'm so glad you got to go to Ireland (we didn't-- yet)
Still
turning onto the wrong side of the road--, Jo

Lucky! My family is supposed to go to Ireland after my mom, sister, and I finish college (whenever that will be). It's the
one place I've always wanted to go.
I haven't been doing much except band performances, like every summer. The last
one of the season was yesterday.
