there is a DVD called "Gypsy Caravan" which displays the talents of a group of people who call themselves "Roma". They are a VERY old portion of the european gypsy population. They cite Northern India as their place of origin. Their music can only be called primitive but in it I hear the origins of Flamingo, German Umpha and Shueplatta music, Greek folk, Hungarian folk, Whirling Dervishes, and Turkish belly dance. I am sure that you will also find much of the Celtic origins also. This group appears to unify the origins of European folk music and dance.
The referenced disk is available from Netflix and I'm sure available for purchase from Amazon because it was released in 2006This message has been edited. Last edited by: Ray,
