My Father phoned me yesterday around noonish. He was in the area and thought he would drop by. So I thought cool...I will take a break, make some coffee and some blueberry muffins and sit with him a spell.
I am not one to watch Tv much, usually have soccer on or music...so I put in the Nights at Alhambra CD ( video ) and let it run. Dad walked in, took his coat off, we sat and immediatly he fell in love with Lorrena and her craft.... we watched the entire video, and when he left I gave him my copy...and I will be getting a new one this week..... :-) What a blessing from one phone call...
Love you Dad! Sure miss Mom.... ;-(
I thought I would share this...maybe other have like stories.....
I am off to run a few....Be well and keep in mind...In every walk with nature one receives far more than he seeks. ;-)

Absolutely agree on that. I was visiting my parents for a while and as we enjoyed the time together, one day, during our dinner time, my mother decided to put herself some really good atmospherical music when all of a sudden it started to play "Mummer's Dance". I had no idea they also knew or like Loreena's music and it all came as a very telepathical special moment. And I could tell you so many personal stories within or related to music's universe.

Thank you each and everyone for the kind words. I enjoy your company very much!
For each of us who come here, ours is a circle of friendships united by ideals, kind expressions we care to share, and we know appreciated by those who read them. Along with the adoration and love affair of the craft of Loreen McKinnett, and her fellow musicians.
Yes I do. I remember awhile back, when my dad was well, I also played the DVD at his house and he also watched all the way through and then asked questions about Loreena. This surprised me because he was not so interested in music then or for that matter in much that I liked. I told him about her beginnings and how she had managed to keep her music and business independent. I could tell he was impressed. Now I'm wondering how much it motivated him as he reached out with his own music in his later months. ---Nice memory. jo

Beautifullly said An-Da! I have many stories very similar to yours where I share Loreena's music and my friends or family fall in love with her. The most grateful is a friend Kathryne; who is very receptive and open minded. At first I would talk to Kathryne about Loreena and she became intregued alas I had no means of sharing the music and dare I not try to imatate her; for it would have been a huge disaster! When she was gifted a small cd player I brought all of Loreena's cd's over and Kathryne fall head over heals and understood how loving, caring, compassionate and how Loreena is such a gentle soul. Kathryne started painted again and she does her best work to "Parallel Dreams". Any other music her brush doesn't work for her, but with Loreena it takes on a life all it's own. Kathryne never tells me "thank you" for introducing me to Loreena and we plan on attending Loreena's next concert in Seattle. Hurry Loreena!!! Only twice had I heard people thought Loreena has a beautiful voice, yet her music isn't their style. And me, I can't get enough! Happy Eclectic Celticing!

Dear An-da-shealladh, that's a great thing. The same actually happened to me, when I got home for Christman my dad fell for Loreena and mum tells me he's been playing "Elemental" ever since!
