Just have read through the lyrics from An Ancient Muse in the "explore the music" section...

I don't know how to describe my feelings now. The words just touched my heart so much and brought tears to my eyes...

I always loved Loreena's writings, not only the lyrics, but also the journals she wrote in the booklets of "The Mark and Mirror" and "The Book of Secrets".

This time the lyrics of the new album are even more touching to me. Since I am a Chinese, and English is not my mother tongue, I really can't find my words to describe how much I love the words!

I just want to thank Loreena so much for the beautiful music and writings she bring to me. They will be my lifetime companion.

By the way, I really hope this time there would be more Loreena's photos in the CD booklet... I really really love the pictures in the booklet of "The Visit"!

Never-Ending Road really strikes a chord for me. I can't wait to hear all of it. And 'Beneath a Phrygian Sky' looks like another for my novel's soundtrack.Smiler I already have 'Penelope's Song on my novel's soundtrack thanks to the B&N First Listen disk.

I'm glad the lyrics are up. It heightens the anticipation while helping the wait go by faster.

note: By 'soundtrack' I mean that it is what I listen to while I write, not that I am using it to sell anything!

I have downloaded the samples from www.quinlanroad.com and they are just so beautiful...... They tear my heart in two Big Grin
I have put 'Caravanserai' playing on quicktime and pressed loop! I cannot stop listening to it. My birthday in on November 25th, and the album comes out at November 21st. I have to say, Loreena has given me the best birthday present I have ever received.

By the way, an interesting thing I noticed. As known, there is a song in the new album, called Kecharitomene. This is a greek word of ancient form that is similar to the word 'graceful' and is specially reserved and used exclusively for Virgin Mary, the Mother of God. It is also known that the album will be released on November 21st. It is an interesting coincidence that November 21st is a great Feast Day of the Kecharitomene (the day that Mary was presented to the Temple by her parents, as a child).

Hello Jeanne,
Please go to the page above, then you can see three "book-shaped" icons for the first three songs. Then click one of them, you can see the lyric, at the same time, you shall find the other 6 icons...

I am not a computer expert... But I think since the page is still under construction, maybe it won't work for every one? Confused

Hope this can help. Smiler

regards,
Cocoa

Please advise? I really have checked, over and over again. It's a bit frustrating, here...

Oh! I can understand your frustation, I'm dying to see the new album in my hands...

Try going on this page: An Ancient Muse

Or:... click on "Explore The Music", click on "AAM" cover - on the right of the screen you see all the titles but the links for the lyrics appear only for the first 3 tracks. Click on one of the 3 small-book icons, and all the others should appear then.

MOST IMPORTANT: Amazon.com now offers 60 sec. excerpts for all the songs!!!
I love "Kecharitomene" and "Penelope's Song"...

Hello... I just downloaded the three extracts from the new cd. There was no question whether they would be great or not, that is taken for granted, we're talking about Loreena McKennitt here!
What i want to point out is, the music sounds so close to the Greek tradiotional music i love and adore and yet it still has the very Celtic touch She knows how to infuse in her music... I am very curious to listen to "Kecharitomene", a greek word standing for the mother of God, widely used in Byzantine hymns, i happen to have grown up with.
I really hope there will be a tour that will include Greece especially with such a cd on board... We love you Loreena, and wish you all the best for the new release.
Anna
