Hey everybody, I just received the email regarding the European tour. I am disappointed I can't come since I live in Michigan. That would cost me a lot of money to fly there and stuff. Oh, I always dream of seeing Ms. McKennitt, how I want to meet her and get her autograph, even a photo-op. That was so traumatizing that she broke my heart because I couldn't see her when she was in Detroit in October.

From what you tell here about you beeing sensitive to noises, I believe it is called hyperacusis.

If you google on "hyperacusis" you can find a lot of info about this syndrome.
I hope you will find something use- and helpfull.

I also think it must be possible for you to seek out some help in your homecountry.

I hope this might help you a little. It is absolutly not fun to suffer from hyperacusis.
I am sensitive to some noises myself, so I can almost imagine how it must feel to be as sensitive to sound as you are.

Sincerely

I have never even been to her concerts nor do I think I will ever be able to go because of an acute sensitivity I have to any noise above speaking range. I can't even go to the cinema. Unless I ever find a way to relieve my hearing problems I'm afraid I shall never be able to go to her concerts... Frowner

Thank you very much I think I might have this or some variation to it. I had never heard of it before so it's nice to maybe have a name for my problem. I'm going to tell my parents and maybe I can get some sort of treatment to help.

Brightest Blessings

Thanks, Malin, for the encouragement. (I have to tell you that your English is getting better). I am just so determined to meet Ms. McKennitt. I think if it did happen in real life, it would be quite special for me, do you know why? Because Ms. McKennitt would be surprised to meet one of her fans who has high-functioning autism (aka Asperger's Syndrome).
(Note: Autism is a neurological condition that impairs one's ability to communicate and relate to others).

I commend you very much for that Loreenya. I checked your profile some time ago and read that you had Asperger's Syndrome and had never heard of that before, so I did some research and now have learned something new (which I love to do Wink) I hope very much you get to meet loreena one day... wouldn't be odd if by some strange circumstance we met each other while meeting Loreena? Big Grin
