I want to reach out to Loreena in the only way I can to thank her for her gift of peace at a time I needed it most.
My life-partner of 30 years passed away recently and my heart has truly never felt such pain. In putting together his memorial service, I knew immediately that I wanted Dante's Prayer played for him. The lyrics to that beautiful song spoke loud and clear to me on the day of his service and gave me the strength and courage to give him the eulogy that he deserved. The beautiful lyrics speak about "cast your eyes to the ocean, cast your soul to the sea" which truly made a deep connection with me as his last wishes were for me to scatter his ashes in the ocean near our home.
This song will stay with me the rest of my life and continue to bring peace to my heart. Whenever I look out onto the ocean, I think of him. "When the dark night seems endless, please remember me." Yes, my love. Always.

Though somewhat belated, I want to extend my deepest condolences to you FrankinBoston. May your Soul and Heart be at peace. As for Dante's prayer, it was this song that first reached my soul the most. I fully understand your sentiment. It's a beautiful song where the spirit of it seems to reach out to all, with so much compassion.
I cried a tear for you, FrankinBoston; I am very sorry for your loss, and for everyone that loses someone near. I will think of you next time I hear the song.

When I heard "Dante's Prayer", FrankinBoston, I felt like crying when Loreena was singing "Ahhhh" in the middle of the song. It seemed as though this song came from heaven. To me, "Dante's Prayer" is more like Loreena's "prayer-song" to God.

My deepest sympathy goes to you for your loss. Dante's Prayer was a beautiful way to send him on his way. Loreena has such a special gift of touching us deeply as your partner has made your life special. May your pain subsides so you can feel his love for you again. My deepest sympathies on the loss of your love. Loreenas music indeed has a spiritual and healing quality to it, and I am glad it has brought you comfort and found a place to help you remember. When my husband and I lost our first baby, and waited ten years for another chance, Dantes prayer was a great help in getting through it. Her music was there for me through my post-partum depression as well. I hope the emotion in her music helps you remember the beauty in every day you spent with your partner, and helps you see you will meet again one day.
