I understand what you are saying & yes what you are saying is true. But when I wear a beautiful dress & I am on my own I get a wonderful thrill from this.

I will write a clear reality one more time.
You think that you also dress in order to please yourself but reality is opposite of this. Women put on nice clothes for OTHERS; ESPECIALLY FOR OTHER WOMEN. If you are sure that nobody can see you in your room beleive me you won't care your clothes (even your make-up). You dress for others not for you. If a man like your clothes you will be happy but there is something that more important than this: When other women ( i mean your rivals ) envy your dress you will be more happy. Show of your clothes will please you. Especially before they go to bars, restaurants, concerts, theaters, meetings, etc. everybody know how many hours do women spend for dressing and make up.
Benjamin Franklin was a great man and great men generally don't say empty words. He knew somethings and didn't say those words in vain...

At most we could move the discussion to a proper topic instead of altering this one completely! :P I think it's good for everyone to have similar and different opinions both, but it's important to remember that that's all they are: subjective opinions, not stated facts. So I hope all Enya fans remain Enya fans, and enjoy her music to the fullest. Cheers to all--

I think I heard the quote concerning Enya in a video production about Clannad. Enya is the sister of Clannad's singer Moya Brennan. It seems that there was some bitterness when Enya left the band. I was a massive fan of Enya when she first started to produce her own stuff-but one reviewer said of her last album "if you've got one Enya album that's all you need". Moya Brennan is also solo now, producing gorgeous music, but she has somewhat abandoned her pagan celtic roots and become a 'born-again' Christian type! Clannad have always been one of my favourite bands and I have seen them live several times, but I think Moya's adoption of Christianity, due to her husband, marked the end of their career together.
I still enjoy them all and I am a fan of celtic music, but I love the eclectic feel of Loreena's music more.

Without wanting to start a discussion on Enya here, I just want to say that I seriously doubt any member of Clannad ever said Enya's piano playing is limited. Enya is a talented and classically trained pianist. Maybe that isn't always obvious because she often uses the synthesizer; but I know she is. Yes Loreena's music is different but should we compare them? I like their music for different reasons. If they have one thing in common though, it's their passion for music. Both their music has given me many moments of pleasures and is their for who enjoys it.

Hmmm, I've never personally been a big fan of Enya. A few years ago someone passed on one of her CDs to me, and I just couldn't get into her style. ------- The best thing we can do in this dismal time, I think, is let live the romantics within us, and carry on expressing that beauty we all believe in in whatever form we do. After all, the first step to changing anything starts with the first step!

Regarding Loreena's clothes, I am a great Pre-Raphaelite admirer and she is very Pre-Raphaelite in both dress and appearance. It is harking back to a better time that maybe never existed but should have and maybe will some day! Certainly it does with Loreena's presence to a lesser degree. Roll on that time for all us Romantics!

You are SO right, I think the main thing is that you learn to live with what you are born with, It is more important to be kind to people & help someone when you can.
Celebrate the fact that you need a stool! As someone told me once upon our meeting, 'There's nothing wrong with being short, except that you're short!'

I am enjoying it throughly. And by the way, Caroline, I apologize for that response in the email...I just didnt read the post you made after me, so i was a bit confused...
Being short doesnt bother me, but it is an inconvinience. A major one. But it isnt the worst thing in the world.
I agree, I find it SO wonderful that people like the same clothes as I do. Please don't worry Lady Deidre everyone has something about themselves they would like to change or improve. Whether it is their shape, height, or even Gender. In the meantime let us enjoy Loreena & her music & her style.
I absolutely agree with all of you! I LOVE the way she dresses too. I wish i could look as lovely and elegant as she does. She is just so beautiful! I have always envied her. And she is lucky that she doesn't lose any of her beauty with years. They only seem to compliment her! May we all be so lucky I have yet to see if any of that luck passes my way...Maybe I might even reach five feet tall one day! Yeah, that would be really lucky...
As for the ethnic style, I try to pull it off myself. I have always wished those clothes would fit a short person such as myself. I am known for being the weird one, so I am always trying to dress diferently. I just hate how every time i think of a new style, it goes in the stores immeadiatly! GRR! Then all of my efforts are wasted and I'm back to square one!
Why do I even try? Its not as if I actually need to try to be weird.
