I didn't get a chance to express my full happiness in actually participating in a live chat. I would like to bore you, I mean share with you the start of that wonderful evening, on Tuesday, March 17th. First, I told everyone who would listen that exactly 9:00 pm on Tuesday, March 17, that I would be listening to Loreena McKennitt, live on my computer. So I came home from work, called all my friends and family so that there would be no interruptions between 9:00 pm to 9:30 pm. I had my dinner, and watched Countdown on MSNBC. Then on a commercial logged into the Loreena's site. I was nervous, because I have never done this and was a little afraid something would prevent me from getting on. But it didn't. I got onto the site, and saw that about 50 people were already on, chatting away. So I joined the group. It was sweet, because you could create your name and use smiley faces in your messages. I sent a message "Hello From New York". And it was nice to find there were others who were in my area. "Five minutes in counting", people wrote. I wrote a message that said "I have to go get my tea." "Two minutes in counting.", someone wrote. What was I going to ask her? "One minute to go" someone wrote. "Oh my God!" And then Loreena's picture showed up on the left side of the screen. I clicked the play button, and Loreena began to speak. I did mention in an earlier blog, that her picture was like a moving mosiac. But nevertheless it was magnificient. I have to say it was quite an experience, listening and typing at the same time, as I was trying to get all my questions in. There were many good questions. So I have learned that Loreena has dogs, she was involved in sports growing up, she currently runs, even before sound check, and she listens to classical music in the morning. I also understand she likes The Chieftains. I think the next time I'm going to take notes, because I was too involved in the chatting part of it that I couldn't remember all that was said.
These are the questions I asked her. 1) Do you speak a little Gaelic 2) Which modern artist or artists would you collaborate with, in addition to your band? Let this be a far out question so that it can be seen only as in a dream.
So I sighed, as the the program drew to a close. The time flew of course because I was having so much fun! But I was even more happier when I saw on the Quinlanroad newsletter that Loreena had done a short talk on her music background and such for Barnes & Noble. That was a nice closing. Thank you all %1,000 percent! This message has been edited. Last edited by: Lizjul,

I'm so sorry you didn't get a chance to participate in the whole chat. That must have been fustrating. I pray that it won't be so bad the next time Loreena has another chat.

What a lovely reading! You have managed to recreate the anxiety and excitement of that night! To me too the wait was exciting, despite the time .
However, if it can help, as to your first question, I know that she'd like to find a bit of time so that she can learn Gaelic, but I think she can't speak it at the moment, maybe she knows a few words, expressions. Till next chat!

I just wanted to add that the technology, using Loreena McKennitt's chat, is really a sign of great strides and progress. Oh there are kinks to out, but we have come a long way, and it's getting better.
