From my point of view and gathering from the 'disappointed and confused vibes' in another thread-posting, I do hope the below explanation will quell some of the questions which have arisen after the Chat Loreena gave.
______________
The ViewersAs most of the QR members have deducted by now, is that the Amazon Chat was being supported by "Ustream". Below is a link explaining what it's all about.
http://www.ustream.tv/aboutUStream is a very large network, obviously comprising of viewers as well. One doesn't have to be signed in to see 'Live' shows going on. Which accounts for the number of 'viewers' that were actually able to see Loreena talking.
All one had to do was click on the 'Amazon' screen, which would have led the folks to the UStream area.
The Time DurationIn the advertisement, it was clearly stipulated that Loreena would be on for only half an hour, and perhaps more. She kept that time as promised.
I'm also taking into consideration that 'personal questions' were coming in, which were not being kept to the topic at hand.
"What do you do in the morning?"
"Do you have any dogs?"
....and so forth. So when Loreena mentioned, "..here we go", I had to chuckle a little as it looked a tad cute on her end, seeing her eyes roving a bit and knowing very well the 'personal dissection' of her life was about ready to start.
This is "Internet TV". I can only suspect that Loreena, obviously, wanted to keep it on a professional basis with so many viewers hooking in.
The QualityPersonally, I didn't have any trouble seeing or listening to what Loreena was explaining. Given the circumstances, I think Loreena articulated herself very well, and taking into note that questions were flying in from every direction, I can only assume that Mark had to quickly scan and grab reasonable questions as best as he could, which is no easy task.
Also to take into consideration is that there were 'hecklers' to have to reckon with in the UStream Chat, which were not making this a pleasant experience for everyone.
Loreena kept her promise of the half hour to us. And I have to applaud her for this, as well as Mark.
QR has the option to take that stream and post it here afterwards if they so wish, but first UStream would have to release it. Time will tell.
If there's anything that I would suggest to QR is that there should be a bit more 'monitoring', unless Loreena doesn't mind the input of hecklers.
Kind regards,
Shan-Lyn
