| I went to her concert in Madison, Wisconsin When I first heard her voice live, I cried, I was in the front row, what a beautiful voice.......sigh....... I wanted to see her and meet her after the show, a very grumpy stage person told me "Loreena doesn't do that" I had even read in the program that she likes to meet and greet occasionally....... Still, it was a truly magical experience........ Maybe next time I will have a chance to talk with her........ | | | |

I think 900 or so miles each way is fine to drive, but I'm not so sure about 1300. I'm simply 'spoiled' on the relative ease of auto trips and don't appreciate the unexpected 'nonsense' which seems to crop up during 'public transportation' plane flights here in the US. I'd DIE if I had a ticket and no airline could even GET me to a concert destination, due to 'unforeseeable circumstances', regardless of HOW early I'd bought their plane ticket. Makes me wonder if the best idea when flying is to leave at least a whole day ahead of time, or is THAT even 'soon enough' to be certain of getting there? Okay, I'll admit it. I've had some problems before, with airlines. I greatly enjoy flying, just not the 'public' part of it, on the huge liners with the great mobs of folks. Gimme a little two-seater and good co-pilot, and I'll be happy to file a flight plan and take off anywhere, anytime the flying weather isn't bad. Jeanne-the-Celtickat
Jeanne, how about if someone meets you at the airport and you fly with them to wherever? I've driven from Florida to Minnesota before -- it only took three days, stopped mostly just for gas and food (and a few hours of sleep) -- and I would be willing to make a long drive like that again for a good cause. Or you could drive to where your "flying companion" (or whatever title you wish to bestow upon whomever it may be) lives and catch a plane from there. Either way, you don't have to fly alone. Just an option, you don't have to do anything you don't want to do. At least, not in regards to the topic of this post. But I do agree with you: Sometimes the crowds can be a bit too much. For Loreena, Hugh, Brian, Caroline, et al: I hope the tour went well, right through the post-concert celebration party on the last day! (I know you guys had a party of some sort, even if it consisted only of throwing your arms in the air and hollering "whoopee!" and hugging one another. ) --Artúr | | | | Posts: 166 | Location: East Central Minnesota, USA | Registered: March 18, 2007 |
