It was a great concert. I was happy to be sitting in the front row.~
I was just rather disappointed with the set list, and the re-arrangements of Never-Ending Road and The Old Ways (two of my 5 favorite songs). They took away the magic of the studio-versions for me.
The set list was: She Moved Through The Fair The Gates of Istanbul The Mummers' Dance Bonny Portmore Marco Polo The Highwayman Dante's Prayer (a shortened version, unfortunately) The Bonny Swans Caravanserai
-Break-
Raglan Road The Mystic's Dream Santiago The Lady of Shalott (another shortened version) The Old Ways Never-Ending Road
ENCORE: Huron Beltane Fire Dance Penelope's Song
aka. same old, same old. I was hoping to hear The Two Trees, Saiman Nights, Breaking The Silence or another rare goldie with a make-over like Bonny Portmore's cello version. Though I was hoping for Beneath a Phygrian Sky (sp?) as well. I LOVED the Highwayman though. Great re-arrangements. (I don't like the song itself, but live it sounded great.)
Of course the quality of most songs was excellent, as usual. But what else can we expect from the queen of World music?
Also it looked like Loreena has something wrong with her hands, because she got the first Lady of Shalott part on the harp wrong and they looked really crooked. I hope she's okay. :/
