Knowing the interest that Loreena has in other cultures, I would like to mention some facts about Bilbao and the basque Country (perhaps she already knows them, but...)
One of the singular things that distinct this part of Spain is its own language, called Basque. It's one of the oldest (if not the oldest) spoken languages in Europe. Nobody knows its origins for certain, some think it could come from the Caucasus, others think it could come from Russia. But it is known for sure that it is older than latin itself. Currently it's spoken in the Basque Country (divided between Spain and France by the Pyrineus)
Here are some common phrases. The pronunciation is 'literal', letter by letter, as in Spanish.
Kaixo (Hello) Arratsalde on (good evening) Eskerrik asko (thank you) Ikusi arte (See you) Agur (Good bye)
Three encores, lucky you! Glad to hear that even though in day 32 of tour, Loreena is always in tip-top form!!, much better than 15 days ago in Madrid. She is a ‘highlander’! About Tango to Evora, it was included in the songs list of the Brescia sound check, in the afternoon. Loreena performed the piece entirely, great as always, and warmly hailed, but then she didn’t repeat the performance at the night show. I wondered why, and maybe she was going to sing it in next concerts and needed to practise in the meantime, or she would also have sung it, if the weather hadn’t been a threat, as it was. Who knows Cheers

I really was at the concert yesterday. I cannot find words to describe the atmosphere that was created there. It seemed as if Loreena was feeling great and she was really enjoying the show, as spectators were doing! Actually, she had to sing three encores! - Huron Beltaine Fire Dance - Tango to Evora - Cymbeline
After the second, the lights were turned on, but the clamorous applause and cheering, people not wanting to leave the auditorium... it was incredible, really nice, heart touching... In fact I have just landed from the flight to Madrid and have been looking for another chance to see her in France or Belgium, but it is nearly impossible (vedry dear plane fares or driving more than 1000 kilometres), so I'm afraid I'`ll have to wait until the next tour.
Loreena, you were relly goddish last night. I enjoyed it even more than in Madrid. We love you!!
