Last saturday I was in Loreena's concert in Lorca and I'd like to make a few comments and reflections about what we lived that night. The musicians and Loreena were very good, as we all expected. But we know that Loreena's concerts are more than good, they are magical. When the concert started, during the first two songs, there was a constant and continuous flow of people passing by the front of the stage looking for their seats while Loreena was singing Stolen Child and The Gates of Istanbul. At the same time, camera flashes were going to her, and I could see it was really hard for her and for the musicians to concentrate on their job. I think she was really patient, but finally, she had to make a request to the audience that no photographs were taken and she explained the reasons for that request. Even though the audience was Spanish and Loreena spoke in English, it was very very clear: NO PHOTOGRAPHS. Most of the audience applauded her for that, most of us wanted to live fully every single second of the concert. Despite her request, there was an individual, or I would say a paparazzi(I feel tempted to use other adjectives, but I'm a respecful person), that nearly jumped on the stage in his attempt to get another photogragh. Loreena was singing Bonny Portmore, and she had to stop singing. She stood up from the chair she was sitting playing the harp and walked towards this disrespectful individual and ordered him to go back to his seat and leave us alone. The concert continued, but there were still a few "paparazzis" that did kept on their attempt of disrupting everyone. As you can image, all these sort of unfortunate actions caused some discomfort to Loreena and the musicians, as well as to the audience, and that intimate atmosphere Loreena likes to create in her concerts was imposible. We had all the best ingredients that night: an outstanding castle on top of a hill, the sound of crickets at the warmth of the night, a beautiful, beautiful full moon over our heads and Loreena and her extraordinary musicians. On the one hand, I feel sad and ashamed for what happened because I think it was very disrespectful. Lorca is a city that belongs to the Region of Murcia. I'm from Murcia and I can't help feeling very ashamed for that selfish behaviour. And, on the other hand, I am pretty annoyed with the local promoter,Espirelia Festival, which is the Tourism and Culture Municipal Government, because they are responsible for many of the actions that contributed to these continuous disruptions. More than ever we need Loreena's music and become aware of how important it is to know about our history, about our past. The more we know about our past the better we will understand our present times. This technological advances are great whenever we don't reverse in moral, behaviour and respect. Sorry for the length of this post. Best regards,
It is very sad to read this. Unfortunately, education and respect is something that many people have lost. No matter to feel, stop the time, listen and live intimately the time. Everything must go at a dizzying pace and, of course, put on record that "I was there." Yes, but you didn't live it...

hello Kike!!
eres de Castellón!!!
Yo también!!!
Maybe we know each other! Castellón is so small !
I attended Loreena´s concert in Valencia, it was great.
Es la primera vez que veo por aquí a alguien de Castellón...
I guess it was just a question of time where 'spiteful' photographers would inevitably challenge Loreena on her kind insistance where no photographs be taken during her performances with 'light bulbs' flashing off. It's not that the people 'don't get it'.....it's more like 'we don't care about what you ask....we're going to take pictures anyway'.
Ofcourse, this is going to disrupt the whole peaceful ambient mood, not only for the performers, but for the listerners as well. There's absolutely no legitimate reason why some people continue to 'push' when they are given rational explanations.
He's lucky I wasn't there. I have zero tolerance for spiteful behaviour.
Despite the unwarranted distractions, it must have been quite a lovely enchanted evening. I'm certain that many people in the audience will remember this part, at least. I wish I COULD have been there. A beautiful moon... rising over a castle wall... in a warm pleasant evening...all the elements that I so much resonate to.
I think, this is the part where the audience should carry away with in 'memory'.
Just forget about the 'distractors'. Eventually, they will realize how foolish they were at one time. Just my two cents worth.
Does Loreena have security? that would have been an extremely awkward moment! I'd like to use some coarse adjectives to describe that paparazzi person as well, although if you look at the Message Board Rules , the first thing on the 'we do not allow' list is abusive posts. so I guess I'll have to use lots of angry faces instead that feels better! hope you enjoyed the concert despite that rude interruption. try to focus on the many good things about it, ratther than the one bad thing Luv From Jesse

Antonia, te comprendo perfectamente, y no quiero ni imaginar la verguenza que yo hubiera pasado en esa situación. Increible la incompetencia de la organización. I'm very sad to read your post. I was in the show in Huelva some days before (day 18) and have to say that everything was perfect, all people were respectful, there was visible security and the night was as magical as we expected. In the tickets were printed that no one could access after the show was started.
It is a pity what happened. Some persons can be very rude and don´t repect anybody or anything...For what i saw in Madrid, Loreenás concerts are not for being taking pictures, or talking, or dancing, etc. Her music is so deep that is really a time to enjoy the big emotions that it brings. It is a pity that some people don´t understand it...
Hello all, I was in Lorca also, and... as Antonia says I also felt so embarrassed and sad because of the behaviour of some people...
Mark: is there any way for you to ask the gig local organizations to fulfill the condition (it appears in the ticket requirements) of NOT taking photos of the gig? They have security staff who makes NOTHING to avoid these situations. I had the same feeling in Madrid. You have the right to demand the fulfilment of this requirement.
What a pity: the night was perfect, the moon was rising over the castle wall along the concert, some stars in the sky, temperature was nice, Loreena and all musicians were so close to us (we were in first row)...
In spite of the annoying events, after the gig, Loreena was as kind, nice and sweet as she use to be with all people who was there for meeting her.
My best wishes for the remaining tour,
Amelia.

Hi Antonia and everybody: I am Cintia from Málaga. I know Loreena's music for approximately 10 years. For me is one of the best singer and composers that the music us to in view of. Always I wanted to go to a concert offered by her but I have not could until this year. I am from Malaga and I saw her in the Theatre Cervantes on July 16. I liked so much the Live Concert that offered that without doubting it I asked for vacations myself and to travel to Lorca to see her again. I sign everything on what you have commented on the concert. I believe that comparison does not have a concert with other one and am sorry about it indeed. Nevertheless, and how not if I will be able to see her again next year, I go away to being going to Granada this Saturday to see for 3 ª time.
Thanks to Loreena ...I hope that She´ll came back to Spain soon...because Because it is a real luxury to be able to listen to her in Live.... Loreena Loreena we adopt you if you want....lol ...please Please gently accepted our offer....;-)
