Details!?!

I have contractors in wrapping up my new home theater room. I can't say that I'd call my setup very high-end (I can't afford the MBL Radialstrahlers), but I do have a quite decent setup going in, consisting of a 7.1 system using custom inwalls I'm building, each with a 5" midbass and an 8"x3" magnetostat, and a pair of 12's feeding off of a kilowatt, all complimenting a 110" screen. I'm getting very anxious to test drive Nights at the Alhambra.

Yeah...sort of like the Oklahoma Land Rush. Believe me, with the possible exception of Paris where it sounds like the place had the acoustics of a high school gym (not your fault Loreena), there were no "bad seats" at the two shows I saw (London UK, Oakland CA). Now I'm driving 1100 miles to Vancouver to see her again...no sweat. I'm sure the Orpheum is up to the task. I take it you haven't seen this yet. Don't worry. It's going to knock you out, no matter what row you're in.
I sincerely hope she includes Night Ride this time around. I can't get enought of that tune. I have a very high-end audio system, and sometimes around midnight I turn off the lights, light up an antique oil lamp, grab a glass of my favorite cabernet, turn the stereo up to about 8, close my eyes and let Night Ride carry me off. It's the only tune in my musical universe that can do it...

Yours--Dennis

Hi Dlaws,
I have this strange visual of seeing people at a starting gate running to the final finish, haha.
There's nothing scientific about this....it's all mystical I tell you, all mystical.
Loreena defies physics...well, this soul is surrounded by other angels with harps you see. I've learnt that some angels can be a tad mischievous with slanted halos... aye, *Shan looks at the ceiling*.
The only gremlins I have are usually found in my computer. At such times, I open up the floppy disk flap and yell in there, "Can it!".
Then they behave. ;-)
I do hope everyone enjoys the concerts!
Warm blessings,
Shan-Lyn

Shan, you should be able to get a better seat. It's your first time and experience and you deserve better especially for that price. You paid for the best. I know you never complain but I think you should try to make some effort in reasoning with the vendor to see if there can be some seating arrangement elsewhere which will be better for your eye. You really deserve to see Loreena much closer. You can at least try, no?
You will love her! If you can't arrange a different seating place then I do hope you'll see her afterwards.
I would have gone with you but you were quicker to the draw.

Hi Dan, I received my ticket today. I understand what you're saying. The only reason I wanted closer rows was due to a right-eye operation which I've had and the viewing has been acting up on me lately. I had explained this to the sales representative, but I guess she assumed I was simply trying to get better seats for fussy reasons. Aye, but such was not the case. ;-)
I am happy though that I'll be able to experience the concert, even if I have to squint. ;-) Still, I intuitively believe I could have had better seats, as I find it hard to believe that in less than 3 hrs. time, 15 rows were already taken.
Perhaps it was because I'd be alone? I don't know. Maybe I should bring binoculars...haha.

Warm blessings,
Shan

Sorry about the eye problem, Shan-Lyn, now I understand your desperation. I, too, am also surprised you didn't get better seats ordering so early. And usually when you just order a single ticket, that helps, because the ticket office will more often than not have that odd seat that's closer than if ordering a pair. But Montreal is one of the bigger cities, so it stands to reason there might indeed be a huge number of fans there, and maybe they really were selling quite fast there. Oh well, I hope you're still close enough to enjoy it. You might not see every detail, but you should still get the general sense of it. Plus, you can still meet Loreena after the show and you can't get much closer than that!

Big Grin Well Shan-Lyn, we now have our answer and I hope you have tickets as I do. Loreena is coming to Winnipeg, so I won't be taking you up on your friendly offer to meet up with you in Montreal! My husband was disappointed to be working that night, so he can't go, but my best friend and I will be happily in the second row. Everyone enjoy the concert...the spring on in Montreal was incredible. I think I'd better add a few more smilies to express my joy at this announcement. Smiler Big Grin Cool I'd better stop now...!!!

Good question Shan. For your sake I do hope she goes to Montreal. You'll finally get the opportunity to see her live! You don't want to miss her this time. Later.

I believe it was a noted in a current event dated February 13, 2007..

An Ancient Muse Tour Coming to North America ....A second set of North American tour dates is planned for Autumn with new Canadian dates expected.

The current event is no longer listed, which seems to open it up to speculation...

Well, we also heard that tour in Greece and Turkey were planed too but we should not forget that if we want to read her book... we should let her the time to write it Roll Eyes ...
Writing a book is a long and hard work which need calm and "isolation" and touring is great but takes a lot of time and is very tiring too... I think that, even if you're able to write on a tour, moving all the time, you will always need a moment after to sit and read again and again, re-write a thousand times and put order in your notes to give the thing you really want to give...

She gave us so much during these last months...
