I've been wondering if any people on the QR Boards saw Loreena perform back in the 80's and early 90's (this is assuming she was performing at the time). I thought it'd be interesting to hear what a comparison of shows then to now. Well, that, and I'm still curious to see if anyone has seen some Parallel Dreams live.

I wonder if anyone here can say they saw Loreena in her busking days in Toronto? That'd be weird, to remember tossing a few coins to an unusual red-haired chick and then to see she now fills concert halls regularly.

I am new to the board but I had to join when I saw this topic!
I first saw Loreena in Dublin in Oct. 1993! It was in "Whelan's" on Wexford Street, a small canaverous venue and she was brilliant. I remember saying at the time that she was exactly the same live as she was recorded - pure sound. She did nearly everything from "The Visit" inc. "the Lady of Shallott"! But I will never forget her rendidtion of "Greensleeves" that night: powerful.
Everyone kept shouting up other stuff that night that I didn't know at the time and I was hooked. We've known her for years in Ireland but it was through an american friend that I got "The Visit" first... She's been part of my life and shound for a VERY long time and long may that last.
Going to see you next Friday in the Lyric!! A far cry from Whelans, eh!! Still, you try and keep the same intimate atmosphere and for that, a huge Thank YOU!!
