I was interested in the comments about Ms McKennitt and meeting and Greeting after a concert. For us a concert is a time of enjoying a performance by our favourite artist. But and this is a big but, think of the time and effort that goes into putting a concert on, not just once but 42 concerts with only a few days off. Then think of the pressure that must go with each performance the getting the sound right the visual aspect. Then Loreena's voice has to be looked after ready for the next days performance. Then the travelling between each concert(which surely must take a lot of energy) and the so the list must go on. Yes it could be argued that she has others to do many of the jobs for her, but she cares about us the ones who have gone to hear her sing. Let's not forget that she must get very tired. Please feel free to add to the list of the logistics of touring because I have never done it and can only wonder at the hard work that goes on behind the scenes.

And what about the performer who has just finished giving a 2-plus hour concert, exhausted and wishing for nothing more than to get some much-needed sleep before having to leave for the next venue the next day? Having gone on camping trips during the summer months, driving for four hours just to get to the campsite, I know how exhausting touring can be -- and I have never performed, either.

If the artist wishes to greet their fans, shaking their hands and so on, that is the choice of the artist. But if they do not wish to stay all night and greet each and every fan, then the fans should still respect the wishes of the artist.

You wouldn't want Ms. McKennitt to dread going out onto the stage and stop touring, would you? That is what could very well happen if she is made to feel obliged to make each of her fans feel "special" by talking to/posing with each and every one of them.

Even the most congenial of people have their "off" days, and I am sure that Ms. McKennitt is no different. Show her some respect, give her some space.

yes, but supposing every one wanted to shake her hand and she was obliged too. 42 concerts x about lets say just 1000 people at every concert. Don't you think 42000 handshakes are a lot.
