And what about the performer who has just finished giving a 2-plus hour concert, exhausted and wishing for nothing more than to get some much-needed sleep before having to leave for the next venue the next day? Having gone on camping trips during the summer months, driving for four hours just to get to the campsite, I know how exhausting touring can be -- and I have never performed, either. If the artist wishes to greet their fans, shaking their hands and so on, that is the choice of the artist. But if they do not wish to stay all night and greet each and every fan, then the fans should still respect the wishes of the artist. You wouldn't want Ms. McKennitt to dread going out onto the stage and stop touring, would you? That is what could very well happen if she is made to feel obliged to make each of her fans feel "special" by talking to/posing with each and every one of them. Even the most congenial of people have their "off" days, and I am sure that Ms. McKennitt is no different. Show her some respect, give her some space. --Artúr | | | | Posts: 166 | Location: East Central Minnesota, USA | Registered: March 18, 2007 |
