I was able to order my tickets to the Lakewood Ohio show October 14th. We have a total of 5 family members coming in my entourage. It should be a fun show and we're really excited about going. We managed to get seats in the "G" row (7th row) so we're really happy about that !!!
YEA !!!

I forgot all about the State and the Palace. Those places are on par with the Paramount out here in Oakland. One of my oldest friends owns/runs Otto Mosers' right down there on Playhouse Sq. She sold out the Paramount in May, but the greater Cleveland area is a far different place than the San Francisco Bay area. They will have done 82 shows this year which is a real marathon, many in smaller communities (like Thunder Bay). I'm sure they know what the potential ticket sales are going in. You're really going to like this. Her voice can make a grown man cry (been there...), Tal Bergman is a pile driver (a new dimension to the music), Caroline Lavelle and Hugh Marsh are world class and Brian Hughes is a master. Too bad about Blossom. I have many good memories from there...

I have no idea how they determined the venue. She may have picked a smaller venue due to this being her first time playing in Cleveland and maybe there's some concern about sales here, as money here is pretty tight for many people. So playing a sold out smaller venue makes more sense than playing for 3-4000 at Blossom Music center, which doesn't look full until you have 10,000 people there.
Blossom is a nice place, but I hate going there, as it's a very long drive, and there are so many rules there, you're lucky to be allowed to breathe. It used to be a lot of fun to go there, but that was many years ago, times have changed.
I haven't been to the Lakewood Civic Auditorium before, but am looking forward to it.
My choice for a venue in Cleveland would either be the State Theater or Palace theater, right downtown. But those are much bigger and classy. So the choice may have come down to theater or venue costs, as I'm sure that bites into the ticket sales.

Greetings djwayne...I'm a former Clevelander (Parma Sr High 71) and was living in Lakewood on Lake Ave at 117th when I moved to California, and go back there regurlarly. I'm a little interested of the booking process and how the Lakewood Civic (1500 seats) was selected over say Severance Hall or Cleveland State. Does she have to approach 5 or 6 places in each city to get a bite? Or do they come to her when she sez: I want to play Cleveland... Too bad the show is after Labor Day because Blossom Music Center would be a great place to see Loreena. I might have flown back there to see that one. I'm sure Lakewood will be fine...maybe a little obscure but intimate. I suppose the venue is partially determined by open dates. Anyway, I'd be interested to know how the Cleveland fans welcomed her...
