Just got home from your Dallas performance and all I can say is "WOW!" What a show and what a fine group of musicians you have assembled. I especially like the "chat sessions" you have with the audience. It's real nice to hear the background on the making of the music. Please don't wait another 15 years to come back!
And finally, from a grateful audience member, thanks for having us over for "dinner" It was a wonderful "meal" Let's do it again soon!
I, too, had the extreme (and I DO mean extreme) pleasure of attending Ms. McKennitt's performance in Grand Prairie, TX and was totally blown away at hearing the music live for the first time, even though I have been a huge fan for nearly 15 years and own all of the "live recordings". Every successive song caused my spirit to soar higher and higher and during her performance of Bonny Portmore and The Old Ways, I felt unbidden tears trickle down my cheeks. I can honestly say that I have never been so emotionally involved in any concert before this one.
The musicians, each one very talented in his/her own right played as if they had been performing together for a lifetime. I was fascinated by the sounds emanating from the less-ordinary (for the lack of a better term) instruments and I didn't hear Loreena herself falter even once. I was fortunate to have seats four rows from the stage and I loved being able to SEE the performance without the aid of binoculars. I also found Loreena's brief explanations regarding her inspiration for some of her compositions both informative and enlightening and I believe this made her audience feel as if they were participants and not just mere observers. The worst moment of the evening was, of course, when it ended! I could have sat there spellbound for several more hours! It was the musical experience of a lifetime an I will, without a doubt, wait patiently for her return.
