Hi Jill....Hard question!!!! Probably my favorite is Caravanserai but really Beneath a phyrygian Sky and Penelope´s song are amazing too...like Caravanserai. If i am happy...Caravanserai is my choise. If i am sad...penelope´s song...if I am dreaming....Phyrygian Sky... I love An ancient muse album!!!!!
Dear Gina! I'm sorry to trouble you, but can I speak with you personally? My name is Kate and I’m Loreena’s admirer too. I can’t find your private direction on this web site. Please, set anyone message to me:shelonik@yahoo.com Thank you.
Hi I have listened to An Ancient Muse several times and I can't say there is one song that has become my favourite as yet. I am sure that will happen at some point though. Loreens McKennitt's music always leads me to a very spiritual, personal place. Flo
My favorite song of the CD is Penelope Song with its beautiful melody followed by Kecharitomene. This instrumental brings to my mind Loreena's research of the first Celts from northern China to Eastern Europe to the Crusades and the crossroads of all cultures as they relate to Anna Comnena. I can see a music video of the history of all these cultures and the crossroads where Anna ends her days. The music tells the story.

Beneath a Phrygian Sky - it's the best song I ever heard, so I feel at this moment. It gives insight about God that is acceptable for me. It gives encouragement without being plain, and I like the music, the different parts that are involved.
Caravanserai was the starting point for me, I saw the video by Amazon, and I liked it so much that I bought all the CDs I didn't had <all with the exception of "Visit">.

And (I forgot to add this to previous post) Saturday night I had a dream where my daughter and I were riding a train and "An Ancient Muse" played over head. My daughter and I were stapling pages of the lyrics of the albumn together then a woman sat with us and we talked of Loreena. It was a beautiful dream up to the point when 2 missionaries came to us and distracted me from my work. The music stopped and I woke up. The music has made a deep impression on me and it is more complex then previous recordings. One song reminds me of Marco Polo, one reminds me of Bonnie Swans and one I sang after I turned off the cd and I started singing The Lady of Shallott instead. The English Ladye and the Scotish Knight reminds me of my friend who fell in love with a Scottish lad. Incantation shends shivers down my spine. Powerful music that we have waited a long time for. It was well worth the wait.

Which one is my favorite? I change favorites with what I need to write in my stories that play with my characters. I love every single song that Loreena has recorded. No other artist I can say that about. She is a very special person.
