I have a question about the Ancient Muse tour merchandise. While waiting for the concert I was upstairs looking at the shirts and the lady who was "helping" me was rather rude. I asked a question about sizes and she basically said "do you want it or not". I just wondered if each venue had people that sold the merchandise or is it the same people at each concert?
Oh I enjoyed the concert. Boy did I enjoy the concert. That was the greatest night of music I have ever had. The only thing that could have topped it off was to meet Loreena.
I attended the concerts in Murcia and Barcelona. I bought several things in Murcia and Errol was very kind and there were a lot of people waiting. In Barcelona I bought the postcards, another DVD and another T-shirt for a friend, there was a girl, sorry I don't remember her name, she was dark hair and blue blue eyes, she was nice, she spoke english and a little bit spanish, she was friendly and cheerful in spite of the queue. Both Errol and the girl in Barcelona were polite, they made a very good job.

If it was Errol and Susan at the Barbican London they were more than helpful no one seemed to wait long before they were served there was no queue as such but they worked it like a a bar and every body was happy. A hard job which they did well, in fact very well they are to be commended.

My name is Karen and I work for Quinlan Road. In response to your question, Loreena has merchandise people who travel with her on her tour. In Europe and North America this year, the merchandise people were Errol and Susan - and in Montreal and European cities, there were also "fan helpers" who helped out with translation where necessary, as well as selling shirts and answering questions.
However, in quite a number of cities in Europe and North America, the venues where Loreena played require artists to have their T-shirts, CDs etc sold by "concessions" - ie staff of the venue in question are the ones in charge of selling, and Loreena's merchandise crew only assist in setting up and taking down.
Without knowing what city you are in (and without checking the list of cities where merchandise was sold by concessions) I couldn't say whether the person you encountered was one of QR's merchandise team or someone else.
I have met Errol and Susan and found them both to be friendly and helpful and we have had great feedback about them. Whoever it might have been who served you, however, I would just say that merchandising is a very tiring job with very long hours (and long weeks of long hours!) and sometimes very big crowds of people to deal with as quickly as possible. I've done this job myself and sometimes through being tired or trying to serve too many people at once, it is possible to end up being rather more brusque with people than any of us would mean to be.
I know that doing this job in the past I probably have been quite brief with people because there are so many other people queuing up to be served. I am very sorry you had a bad experience. I am sure that whoever the person was who served you - and I can't actually say whether that was "one of ours" or a venue person - she would not have wanted to offend you, and (I am sure) did not set out to be impolite.
I hope that aside from this problem, you enjoyed the concert!
