Last night, was simultaneously one of my worst and oone of my best nights. I had my first concert with my music master's choir, in the auditorium of Intitute Francaise Athenes. It was a dreadful experience!! I was really in a state of shock. Really really nervous. And, in fact, when the concert ended I had high fever and now I am in bed. BUT, something extraordinary happened.. The concert had several parts, some of them with organic (instrumental) music, some of them just voices (the choir). So, we did the oral parts. The instrumental parts were carried out by 3 musicians, playing the canoun, the oud and the lyra of Constantinople (aka Istanbul). Now, the man who was playing the lyra was the same man who played it in the Ancient Muse, Sokratis Sinopoulos! I was thrilled! I was actually giving a concert along with an artist I really admire, and whose performance in LM's work I have been relishing for a month now. In the end of the concert I went backstage, greeted him and introduced myself. I told him about Ancient Muse and he really seemed to enjoy the recognition this masterpiece receives. He was a very kind and welcoming man and I was so glad to meet him..!
The moderators will have to excuse me now, I have a message for greek friends:
