I have been listening to her music now for almost 10 years. At first, it was Enya; then, a friend introduced me to Loreena's music. So last night I saw Loreena in Nashville, TN at the Ryman's Auditorium. There was one song especially that she sung that brought almost heavy tears to my eyes. At the moment, I can't remember the title (Please Remember Me?) but when my daughter was dying from brain-stem cancer at the age of 16, I listened and played that song so many many times. It was the same as my heart in pain and crying out to the winds of change. Loreena's concert was so very precious to my soul literally. I watched Loreena closely -- her whole body was visibly singing her songs -- deeply so. I have always felt her music within my own soul --- what a precious gift to have seen her last night! She has a very unique blend of players, too. The music from each instrument was talking, was singing ... true music from all performers! Music and Nature has always been my soul's language ... Loreena's music is my soul's prayer when I dance in meditation ...
By the way, she got 3 standing ovations; and, I was amused by the last song she sung with her harp. Subtle hints of a lullaby and saying good-night..
How sad to have your daughter die of brain-stem cancer, it breaks my heart to read that. You are very special in that you listen to music with your soul as the sufi saying goes... "There are two kinds of people, the ones who listens to music with their minds and the ones who listens to their souls" or something to that effect. I found it in "Book of Secrets" liner notes. Thank you for sharing your night with Loreena with us as I am anxiously waiting for May 15th to see her in The Paramount in Seattle. Peace and beauty be with you, Gina

Yes, it was Dante's Prayer. Maybe it's just me, but I think it should have been nearer the end of the concert, perhaps as the last encore. It gives a sense of there being hope for the world, and for those who live in it. It would have been perfect as the very last song...
But Cymbeline works just as well.

I thought it made a very nice lullaby.

I am glad you shared with us your deep feelings that come with listening to Dante's Prayer. I too, am very moved by Loreena's singing as well as the words " please remember me" in this song. I warned my date not to be concerned if he saw me bring out a tissue!
