A View - The Journey So Far

There was a survey from Quinlan Road that asked of our opinion about QR creating a cd of recordings from the Celtic Footprints Tour (to paraphrase) See Celtic Footprints Audio Survey Discussion).

"This was my (partial) view on the subject: "Thank you so much for letting us offer our thoughts on this. For the live recording, if it is all her songs from the Wind That Shakes The Barley, then yes I would be interested.

However, as much as I love to hear her, I would not be interested in purchasing a CD that has other songs that she previously recorded live. Only because it would be a little redundant and a bit of an overkill."

I shudder to think that I wrote "overkill" and "redundant". But I was in the moment. The Journey So Far has surpassed my expectations. I love the live recordings! I was worried about the album having live recordings from other albums. But on the TJSF, they were done recently (2012) and Loreena's vocals! Good Lord. Her sound was different. It's more soulful than ever. Listen and see if you hear what I hear.

The mix for the recorded songs, are excellent. I see (or hear) that the song intros were clipped, so you get right into the song. And I'm sooooo happy that Mummer's Dance (single re-mix) was put on this album. I have not listened to the entire album in one sitting. After all it's a "journey" Big Grin. But it's such a masterpiece. Whoa!
